May 20, 2012 - I've never seen precoloured melting chocolate before. That's very cool and time saving, if I can find it here (Australia).

May 26, 2012 - Just buy normal chocolate melts from anywhere and add food color but it has to be powder!
SabrinaBecky95 Says:
May 26, 2012 - you can buy them from any crafts or cooking store (such as michael's), they're actually called something like candy melts and they come in a wide variety of colors.

May 28, 2012 - how do you get the coating so thin?? i just tried to make some cake pops using Candy Melts and it was SOOO thick! I tried adding shortening because that's what I read online, and it helped a little, but it was still super thick!

May 28, 2012 - Hi Rita! Good question!! I've found that with every melt it's different. For this video, I used melts from NY Cake (which they call chocolate) and didn't have to thin them. With Wilton melts, which are my last resort, I have to use about a tablespoon for every 6-7 oz of melts in a mug! Also, try to keep the melts just under 90 degrees. Too hot, and they'll bloom or seize. ^_^ Join my mailing list! lots of tips there. cakeb0t dot com slash buttercream. Thanks for watching! KIT <3 xoxo

May 28, 2012 - Your welcome! Yes, you don't need the pan. I've actually tried the machine... those are good too. They differ in that they are just balls of cake as opposed to crumbled up cake with frosting. Thanks so much for watching my video! Join my mailing list for more cake and cake pop tips. May 6, 2012 - I've been thinking about it and I think the issue was that the icing I used was homemade and a bit runnier than the icing you used. They tasted delicious but they were quite fragile.
