Through a fashion magazine maybe he reaches a different audience than he otherwise would, equally the presence of his article in the magazine would surely inject at least a crumb of intellectual thought. Do you just assume that anyone interested in fashion could not possibly be interested in current affairs?

It's reassuring to see a 60% drop in theism among scientists (though it may be higher - it's hard to get a real answer out of that sort of question when societal pressures are in play.)This is according to Neil deGrasse Tyson anyway.
