Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - yes
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - hmmmm...so would you say Russia and the US were the most successful in exporting their cultures and languages given both were super powers in the last fifty years during the Cold War??
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - Maybe Russia regarding ex Soviet states and Eastern Europe, but the US has been, and still is, the most influential of the past 50 years
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Well you make a good point. I wonder if France was a good export of culture and language during Napoleon's time. What do you think?
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - Wasn't the Metric system adopted during the Napleonic Era? France had always been influential in law and diplomacy too, as French was considered the language of diplomacy
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Very true. Well said. Though I will say that I am no friend of the metric system. lol!
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - Well, actually, France and Britain are set to overtake Germany economically in 15-20 years. You have a larger economy because you have a larger population which means a larger workforce. I love curry, man. Do you like kebabs, you've got a lot of Turks.. right? You should be more tolerant. :D
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - We use both here
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Get rid of the metric one...lol1
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - I've been meaning to ask you, why do you have such a profound knowledge of history? Do you have a history degree or something lol
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Awww thanks! lol!! I just like to read history a lot!!! Don't have a degree in, but it's something I've always loved reading about!
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - British scientists such as Newton, Darwin, Maxwell, Turing, Faraday... unparalleled :bI'll give you classical composers, though.
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - Oh right, well, it's exceptional, u have a gift lol :b
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Thank you!! you honor me greatly!! It seems you have the gift yourself. Love you knowledge of history...
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - Have you ever read up on ancient history? Or do you prefer modern history?
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Well I've read up on both, but my passion is in Ancient History to be honest!
Jadcardie Says:
May 24, 2012 - ahh okay. I know very little about ancient history, I prefer modern history to be honest... but your knowledge is vast compared to mine lolAnyway, nice chatting to you, cya later. xoxo
suryavajra Says:
May 24, 2012 - Well I'm a voracious reader...lol! You got a lot of knowledge to share and good points to make, don't sell yourself short.Anyway, have a good one, catch ya soon, chica!

May 24, 2012 - "Well, actually, France and Britain are set to overtake Germany economically in 15-20 years."Both France's and Britain's economies are declining while Germany's is the only one in the EU that's rising; and nobody can say how it's going to be in 20 years from now. We can't even say how things will be in one year from now. Such "predictions" depend on too many incalculable factors, so they are unscientific and therefore worthless.Besides, I like kebab and I don't have anything against Turks.

May 24, 2012 - So would argue that a superpower then would be the most influential on the world state when it comes to promoting language and culture?
