May 23, 2012 - why is japanese sometimes written vertically and when should this form be used ? I would like to know since I love MANGA. I'm planning to be a manga artist so this would really help.
kharon899 Says:
May 24, 2012 - if u want to write novel, card, manga etc, u need to write'em vertically. its kinda tradition artistic or respectful things must be written vertically
MrDaphool Says:
May 24, 2012 - IMABI wa hontou ni nihongo wo manabu tame ni saiteki na saito da ne.
Pawnbroker00 Says:
May 25, 2012 - Repeat sounds over and over again, then repeat sentences. Adjust tones aswell, and avoid looking at a sentence like an english speaker. E.g yoroshiku, you probably see and read that as yor-osh-kew, when it should be broken down into two letter sentences such as yo-ro-shi-ku, ku being the "oo" in "soot". There is no fun in learning, its just repetition and hard work. Watch subbed tv dramas to get a greater perspective.
Pawnbroker00 Says:
May 25, 2012 - No there isn't. There is no female differences, only natural ones like in english, such as stereotypical feminine manners, e.g less slurring of words, less swearing and dialectual speech, softer voice.
BouncyTheEmpoleon Says:
May 25, 2012 - The thing is that I know the language (can competently read and write it, know the pronunciation), but I cannot speak sentences fluidly.I've actually spent some time of my childhood in Japan, and I've grew up watching J-drama. (I am from Hong Kong.)But thanks; I will try to practice more.
Aida0017 Says:

SpicyCarrots Says:

SpicyCarrots Says:
May 26, 2012 - And that it's the 'ha' in hiragana?
Mrcldlo Says:
May 27, 2012 - Thank you anime! I understood the entire intro and I've never studied Japanese. Watching things in the original language can be useful.
Pawnbroker00 Says:

spunkypuppy Says:
May 17, 2012 - Good observation. Yes, it's the same with the "i" in hajimemashite. Be careful not to pronounce the "i"!
