This vehicle purported to go supersonic actually traveled at Mach 0.938726 - 0.9671 & had therefore gone sub sonic. So why all the fake thrill of a phantom achievement? I am not so sure about the 'sonic boom' generated to be heard by the listeners (which I presume ought to have occurred at supersonic speeds). This is probably a fallacious joke, "record" or not!

The actual average over two runs was 763.035mph, and the sonic boom was in fact real.The team that built Thrust are currently planning on breaking this record.........and trying for 1000mph!
