colin1940 Says:
Aug 24, 2011 - No, you would need to have the pastel for the colours to merge together. Kind regards Colin.

Nov 24, 2011 - Hi Colin, are these the Faber Castell pitt pastels you're using? If so how do you get them to blend so well, mine do blend but they don't appear to be as soft and when I add onto the top of a colour they don't seem to work as well. Thanks, Clare
colin1940 Says:

Dec 12, 2011 - You are absolutely fantastic, thank you so much! But a question -- how do you keep the back of your hand from smudging the image?
colin1940 Says:
Dec 13, 2011 - Thank you for your comment and your interest in my work. I use a sheet of cartridge paper under my hand to protect the picture, I also work my paintings from top to bottom this also avoids smudging. Best regards Colin.

colin1940 Says:
May 14, 2012 - I use two kind of blending tools, a paper blender and a colour shaper for blending my pastel pencils. I now prefer the colour shaper over the paper blender for most of my work but still use the paper blender occasionally. I hope this helps kind regards Colin.
