May 26, 2012 - @bigwhitehound you pick the AK because it's simple and less "finicky" but you pick a colt 1911 as a side arm which is a lot more complex then other mil moder side arms and can be very ammo picky......ok? Do you have experience with these weapons?

May 26, 2012 - @bigwhitehound if I had to pick of any of my rifles ak or Ar I would pick my most recent spikes/BCM build. I can reload the ammo, parts are everyplace around here, I've trained on it more, it's reliable every time I have used it. That said if all I had was my SGL I would feel fine using that as well. It's easier to build an AR from parts with simple tools (hammer barrel wrench, toque wrench) then an AK from parts (barrel press, flat jig if building from a flat)

And the 7.62x39mm is a pretty underpowered round for it's size. It's terminal ballistics suck as well. The 5.56 is far more damaging to flesh. Chest? Be more specific.
