Sep 15, 2011 - Never added it all up but it wasn't cheap even when I built it all myself. Trunk pop was my own original design using a pneumatic lift cylinder and air pressure from the spare tire. A small air pump refilled the tire after 10-15 openings would drop the spare tire pressure below 50 PSI.

Sep 19, 2011 - Very cool. I can't imagine how much work was put into that. It turned out great. What type of microcontroller? Adruino?

Oct 26, 2011 - thats so sick! Ever think about putting something like this on the market?
slickraft Says:
Oct 26, 2011 - Not really. Too much work and liability issues involved to sell to the general public.

Nov 4, 2011 - Hey bro how you do the hatch lift??
slickraft Says:
Nov 4, 2011 - The command to pop the trunk with the remote uses an aux channel on my alarm remote through an electric trunk release solenoid from ebay. The lift is performed with a Bimba 14" stroke pneumatic cylinder. The cylinder gets air pressure from the spare tire. After about 10 trunk openings the spare tire gets below 50 PSI and a small compressor turns on to refill the spare tire back to 60 PSI. It was not an easy mod but I built it for very cheap with parts I had around the garage.

Nov 29, 2011 - What hardware controller did you use to drive the lighting?
slickraft Says:
Nov 30, 2011 - Controller was done by a friend over 5 years ago. He used a master chip to drive two slaves to get the 22 outputs. I believe he used PIC chips.
