May 5, 2010 - I have a bike that was ment for the Dutch, but imported to the US. Last winter I rode it all winter 1,300 miles. On mornings that were -10f and warmer I rode the 8 miles to work, even through snow stoms.. when temps were close to -20f and colder I rode to the bus stop, 3 miles.... Thoes Dutch bike are tough and I LOVE MINE. One day I hope to find a Dutch lady to spend the rest of my life with!

Aug 10, 2010 - wow, I would love to do this in Amsterdam someday.

Aug 15, 2010 - I'm riding bikes for over 20 years in every weather here in Austria. But it only took me one winter to never want to ride with slick tires (all bikes in the video seem to have them) again. We got at least some hills within the cities and roads are a little bit less bike friendly. So it's safer to "stick" to the ground.

Sep 7, 2010 - I ride with very ordinaire tires here in Québec city year round and very few problems. Some cyclists here also love the studed tires and good for them as long as they ride year round its greeat. We have a lot of snow here and when snow storms well I stay at home, Play in the snow. walk, read a book, have lots of sex in the snow when possible or look at videos of cycling in Amsterdam:-) Whatever suits you just KEEP RIDIN

Sep 15, 2010 - very cool, already went to holland?

BerndtTost Says:

Nov 22, 2010 - Seems like very few cyclists have, or use, lights at night time. Why is that?

markenlei Says:

Nov 23, 2010 - many do use lights, but we have dynamo powered lights. If you ride slowly and with snow on your wheel like in this video that gives only very little light output.

PalmyBruce Says:

Dec 14, 2010 - Notice there's no helmets. The culture respects cyclists, so there's less danger from cars.

sphide Says:

Dec 17, 2010 - fab to see these guys cycling in the snow and I respect them for that; but like all the Continentals (hence their incredulous view of cycling helmets) they cycle at approximately half the speed of us Brits ;-)But respect, nonetheless...oh, and don't even mention hills...;-)

CopmanZ Says:

Jan 7, 2011 - nothing really special, and the snow is not really much over there :o

tetrabee Says:

Oct 2, 2011 - True, but snow isn't the only unpleasant weather condition for a cyclist. Rain and headwinds, which are very common there for most of the year, means that any fair-weather cyclist is out of luck. But you're right, it's not particularly exciting, nor should it be. What we're seeing here should just be "normal" anywhere. Nothing more, nothing less.

motorbreath1983 Says:

Jan 15, 2012 - For just a few euros there are small red and white lights available that run on batteries. Some people are just to lazy to buy and use them, too stupid to understand consequences cycling without lights on
