All of them look like they are remembering something the music is bring to the surface. One of the girls towards the end didn't even look like she was in the same room. If you listen to the snare hits you can tell that they occur in the same meter/time sig as the chord changes, just with some creative fills and syncopation. Maybe that's what threw you off. Not trying to diss you - I love Mew and all, and the atmosphere is awesome, but this is not very advanced drumming, like for example some of the polyrhythmic stuff in prog-rock/metal. Just wanted to point that out.
