Apr 25, 2012 - Welcome to Toronto... lol

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - Yes thats true. But Lu is one of our key players in Van, and holds many franchise records in Goaltending. One of the greatest goalies this city has ever had, and true Canucks fans will at least appreciate him, if not love him. A canuck (old one) that nucks fans dislike a lot is messier, Lu is NOT EVEN CLOSE to him.

kambelzful Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - i think Luongo has really hurt Vancouver. Giving soft goals that should have been saves in clutch situations. Also every time there was a centering pass or a five hole shot, it would be a goal against Luongo.

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - every time? come on!I admit he lets in soft goals sometimes due to confidence meltdowns, but often it is caused by the TEAM not giving him any support. Like Game 1 this year, Lu was the best player on the ice, but we cant win just because of one player. The fact that some of the players played like they were retarded really cause Lu to not believe in himself, even though it wasnt his fault and we could have won those games, and now he's not getting any fan support either. Poor guy...

kambelzful Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - Sorry i can't feel that "poor guy" way. He has screwed us over so many times. Maybe if Luongo didn't give up a soft centering pass goal in Game 7, the canucks would be able to have the morale to score a goal. It has been showed that teams don't play as well with a goalie they aren't comfortable with. We rely on goalies to make easy saves and not give up soft goals.

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - I think the Canucks are TOO comfortable when Lu is in net, that they just rely on him to steal a game for them. They play better when Cory is in net, because he is a backup and they work a little harder to make sure they win. However, I do agree that he screwed us over a couple times. But what goalie doesn't? Everyone has bad games, look at Fleury this year. But Lu also saved us a lot of times. The team was outplayed badly in the boston series, losing 1-0 or 4-0 doesn't matter.

Apr 28, 2012 - lol claasssic

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - We can cheer for Schneider now, besides he's better. You can still love a team and accept that the goaltender is bad.

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - He was solid in net for the first two games against LA, that is obvious, but he still let in a couple of goals that were because of his poor habit decisions. Luongo goes down on his pads too fast, to try and close his 5-hole. He lunges when he shouldn't, he should stay in his net, and he also needs to learn how to get off of his chest and stay upright too the puck and the shooter. Schneider excels in all of those areas, and hopefully he can be our starter next year!

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - And still manages too screw up. People seem to forget that because a man or a person has a bunch of "glorious" trophies and medals, etc etc, doesn't take away all the screw ups that person has done. Sure, what's in the past is in the past, but you can bet that Luongo will screw up again and again. He can't handle pressure as well as Schneider. Luongo is obviously the best starter this franchise has ever had, but Schneider can be even better, and next year, if he is starter, he will show it.

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - I agree. The way Schneids play really intimidate the shooter, his positioning is so good. Its hard to score on him, even rebounds, because he recovers so quickly after making a save. I think hes the better choice right now, but Im happy if we keep either one.I just don't like it when people think Lu is a player that really "hurt" the team, he has done so much for this team! He is the best goalie we had in the last 10 years!

Npetro13 Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Schneids Loo

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Exactly! Lu doesn't go pad to the post all the time as he should, as any goalie should, and he is also really sloppy and slow from sliding from post to post. Schneider is younger than him, and as we have saw form what Schneider is capable of, he is only going to get better. Luongo has what, 4-5 years left? Maybe a bit more, and he still hasn't matured completely. Anyone who says that any Nucks fan is a bandwagon-er for "hating" on Lu, Ill I have to say is that I see a goalie with potential...

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - ...and skill, there is no doubt, as I still have faith, but he needs to mature and handle the pressure. Luongo needs to get as far away from Vancouver and start fresh again.

barjinder8 Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Luongo - 7 straight 30 win season. Compared to Schneider, Luongo in 115 GP has a: 2.26 GAA - .924 SV % - 9 shutouts. Schneider in 58 GP has a: 2.10 GAA and .933 SV %. Why are Schneider`s stats a little bit better? Well he`s played 57 less games then Luongo. Plus Luongo doesn't screw up. In the finals for example, people blamed Luongo for the loss, when we only scored 8 goals in the 7 games. Luongo played great, his only fault was the fact that he couldn't score for the team

barjinder8 Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Luongo`s stats over the last 2 years have been a little worse than Schneider`s. Why? Luongo has played in 57 more games, not including the playoffs. Also, I have an example for you. People blame Luongo for the loss. Well Luongo played great. The TEAM only scored 8 goals in 7 games. The only thing you can blame Luongo for is that he couldnt help offensively... and that isn`t even his job

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Schneids really needs to practice puck handling though, I can get heart attacks from it. Other than that, he is great. He can handle the media better than Lu too, I think, although Lu improved a lot. Both are great players with heart, its sad to see anyone of them leaving. If Lu gets traded, I hope he lands in a city that really appreciates their goalie. There are many bad fans (or bandwagoners) in Vancouver.

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Oh yeah, that's right, Schneid's puck handling is pretty bad, and it can scare my the taint off of my nipples pretty hard too. It will be somewhat morbid to see Luongo leave, but I will also praise it considering it would be a great chance for a fresh start in a city that will not diminish Luongo so much, or at least not care. Toronto wouldn't likely be the city to not take goaltending not seriously, considering it's the supposed biggest hockey market in the NHL, which I can see.

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Lu is NOT going to Toronto, never, I hope.I don't hate the city or the team, I don't care about them. BUT, I think Lu deserves wayyyy better than playing in that city. The bad fans are even worse than the bandwagoners here. The team isn't really good either, Lu has way more talent and deserves to get traded to a cup-contending team, rather than a team struggling to even make the playoffs. Besides, what does Toronto have to offer us, Dion Phaneuf and Phil Kessel? We don't want them lol

Robert Crousett Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Well apparently Toronto was one of Luongo's city's to play in if he were to get traded. I have no idea why, I am assuming he wants even more pressure, lol. I'll tell you something though, I do have a feeling that wherever Luongo goes, I feel that he will become a hell of a lot better than playing here in Vancouver. However, Schneider is amazing, and will only get better.

idude001 Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Lu should go to tampa. In return well take stlouis or lecavalier. Fair trade

StTailLuv Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Yes, Schneider is already good, and yet he still has plenty of room to grow, and he will improve once he becomes a starter. Having him playing on the Canucks is amazing!Well, I don't know the source, where did you hear that? Its pretty weird, I thought Lu would turn Burke down instantly if he asks him to come to Toronto. But if Lu does end up in Toronto, and the Leafs win a cup before we do, I WILL BE PISSED!

fswwindjammer7 Says:

May 4, 2012 - You cannot put all the blame on Luongo, A team must work TOGETHER AS A TEAM to be able to reach a goal. When the HEART OF A CANUCK becomes the HEART OF A DRAGON,ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.Because TEAM WORK made that happened.
