Jun 27, 2011 - Dana's parents left Earth when she was eight or nine years old. Have some sympathy for her; she had a hard childhood.
Vash001 Says:
Jul 11, 2011 - Wait wasnt Dana a Lieutenant and Angelo was a Sergeant at the beginning of the episode? and then suddenly Dana is a Sergeant and Angelo is a Corporal? That's almost as bad as seeing Rico's rank fluctuate in Roughnecks back in the day.

Sep 3, 2011 - 06:13 "Stop this immediately my ass." She was encouraging her squad to kick some ass in there; at least, that's what she was doing in the Original Southern Cross series.

Oct 21, 2011 - The mecha and vehicles in The Masters is so ugly and clunky looking compared to the other two..

Nov 2, 2011 - What the fark happened to Lisa, hunter, Max & Miriya? Didnt heard Dana mentioning them?

Nov 5, 2011 - @lancerCNCS1: Agreed. I think the Masters series was the most complex. It had the most primary characters (ensemble cast, really) and people seem to not realize the fact that females playing such a huge role in this series is something notable in and of itself. It showed a different, non-traditional style of leadership. The hatred for Dana's afro and hatred for this show I think are demonstrations of small-mindedness. And clearly, there are a lot of small minds...in other words, the "masses."

Nov 5, 2011 - @MDthornton83: yep they have. I think it's cheesy. I hate to say it but a lot of the "new" Harmony Gold for me has been kind of face-palmish in my humble opinion. I for one, did not like the new Robotech movie at all. And I'm a huge fan...it was heartbreaking to watch the Haydonites become another villain, to see some new Sterling child pop out of nowhere, clunky animation/computer mixing, and Vince Grant be emasculated all the time (a racial trope, actually). The whole thing just sucked...
Knyte77 Says:
Nov 5, 2011 - @JamieMcJay: Yep. And the Red Bioroid I think is a total rip-off of Char.
Knyte77 Says:
Nov 5, 2011 - Just realizing...Dana Sterling may have influenced the Starbuck character from BSG's re-imagining. We already know Robotech must have had an influence on the show given that the series finale included a Daedalus style attack ;-)The actress would make a PERFECT live-action Dana.

Dec 2, 2011 - Out of nowhere? LOL Go check out the end of Episode 60 (Catastrophe) and you'll notice "the other daughter of Max and Miriya" in Dana's dream. Maia hardly comes "out of nowhere."
VictorErol Says:
Dec 2, 2011 - Dana directly tells her parents' story in the first episode of the Masters saga.
VictorErol Says:
Dec 2, 2011 - There's nothing that Harmony Gold could do about the animation. Robotech is a story; it's laid on top of footage that is what it is.
BlitzWerkz Says:
Dec 6, 2011 - I directly skipped the rest and watched the last episode and then start New Generations...

Dec 23, 2011 - Of all the 3 sagas, I've always been partial to The Masters (Southern Cross). It's always had a certain "weirdness" about it. Most people don't like this one of the 3 but it's been my favorite. I love the look of their Roman battle armour with the faceplates. I've always thought the hovertanks were cool because they don't look like ordinary tanks. This saga is so underrated. I'll be glad when a toy company FINALLY makes a GOOD hovertank toy to replace the crappy one from 1985. Go Dana! Go Bowie!
MDthornton83 Says:
Mar 11, 2012 - I agree; the Masters saga may not be as popular or as well known as the Macross saga which American audiences all know and love. But the Masters saga has always had a special place in my heart. I always had a liking to Dana Sterling for her independent yet cheerful and energetic personality. She's been a character that's been etched into my mind since the 80s. And I also love the armor, robot, and mecha designs in this show. They're awesome. Even for its time, they're awesome.

Jun 27, 2011 - The Robotech Masters CREATED the Zentraedi. They gave them life, and they can take it away.
