Title: bici dopata / doped bicycle / gedoptes Fahrrad / bicicleta dopaje
Added: May 28, 2010
Author: lamargna
Duration: 4:1
Description:
According to italian ex-professional rider Davide Cassani, the doped bike has existed since 2004, is totally silent and has already been used by professionals, according to his sources. Cassani rode the bike himself and was impressed. Hey Pharmstrong, what about a doped bike instead of all the PED's?! check this article including an interview with the hungarian developer of the bike, István Varjas who claims that his bike can achieve Peak Power of 600W and the battery might last up to 60 minutes and also supports pedaling cadence of 100 RPM and more. The weight does not exceed 1 kg. shown. http://bit.ly/9YMbrm

Jun 4, 2010 - This is total bullshit. The motor doesn't even have the torque to get the wheel started; and we're supposed to believe it puts out 100-200 Watts?I have an 18 Volt Dewalt that can get it moving RIGHT NOW; but, won't have the power to move someone with motorcycle type dominance. This is just hype by the manufacturer to boost sales.

Jun 12, 2010 - Bici TOPATA!
mrizzardo Says:
Jun 12, 2010 - It gets the crank spinning not the wheel, and if it outs out only 50 Watts it could be a huge advantage. Imagine doing a long climb at 400w, if you can do 450 Watts then you will not only drop everyone but win by a large margin.I also highly doubt that Davide Cassani is bringing this up for nothing, the Gruber unit was designed and built to be stealth, hidden and used on road racing bikes. If people want an electric bike they could get MUCH cheaper models, not a $2800 Gruber.
lamargna Says:
Jun 13, 2010 - again: 1) Gruber does not fit into the specialized frame 2) Gruber is currently not yet available for carbon frames 3) the motorised bike shown by Cassani was produced in Hungary 4) Gruber is very noisy. There are better and significantly enhanced models available than the Gruber Assist, but of course, more costly. Lastly, Gruber was primarily built for MTB use.
