Apr 22, 2012 - Those who knew him best & lived with him said during that time period you could count on both your hands the amount of times he did acid.Saying he did collassal amount was just an easy way to describe it for folks who like the rock and roll imagery & also simply represents the confusion from the rest of the band. From everything I've gathered refusal to play etc was his peaceful way of reacting to the ignorance in the music industry and the band being naive to his mature view point.

Madcap laughs was mocking that they actually thought he was "mad" and in turn made uniquely profound & good music without "selling out"and staying true to his absolute idealism that art is complete individualism(which it is). & I'm saying all this while acknowledging regardless, Pink Floyds later work was still that of brilliance and legend. It would've been if Syd stayed around or not.
