Mar 17, 2012 - Do you have a video on how to properly tune a bass? Cuz I just got one from a nice pawn shop, but the strings are really old and kinda rusty, so I'm gonna get new ones.My Dad's an amazing guitar player, so he knows how to tune a guitar, but since a bass is different pitch, I don't think it's the same.

Apr 17, 2012 - Ew Rickenbacker. Much too un-bass-like to me. It matches more with the snare than the bass drum. It's good for slapping though.

May 3, 2012 - Awesome video! I've always wanted to learn to play an instrument but have always said that if I'm going to do it I want to learn everything I can about it. Thinking of purchasing my first bass any tips on what I need or should look for? Also any tips on tuning? First video of your's I've watched so any help would be greatly appreciated.
BassLessonsOnline Says:
May 4, 2012 - Thanks - I'm glad you like this video.Your attitude re learning everything you can is excellent! There are so many basses available nowadays. You usually get what you pay for. If you are looking at an entry-level, lower budget bass (sorry if I am assuming here) start with Squier, Yamaha, and Ibanez basses. They all have many models and it is best if you compare.Make sure the bass is comfortable to "wear" (i.e. no neck dive, not too heavy) feels and sounds good to you.Bass of Luck!George

May 28, 2012 - yesterday i picked up the bass at a cookout (first time) and i start playin like some old Nirvana, Alice in chains, otep, and some kittie. it wasn't that hard all i did was match some of the notes that i usually play (by ear) on the piano to the guitar. it was the old fashion kind with the input socket on top of the body (loved the design) and that's how i got here. :) so thank you for the video it helped allot!
