Title: city - Tallinn, Estonia | euromaxx
Added: Jan 4, 2011
Author: deutschewelleenglish
Duration: 4:17
Description:
Estonia has two reasons to celebrate in 2011. First up it's the seventeenth country to join the Euro zone, and second, Tallinn is one of this year's European Capitals of Culture. euromaxx visits a relatively small capital that enchants visitors with Hanseatic buildings within medieval city walls but also startles with some modern architecture.

Apr 23, 2011 - I agree with that for sure. Not that I have any hate towards any country now, but it is true.

Apr 24, 2011 - well at least they realized that a communist system is not working for them, and in extension, for anyone.Welcome to the West.
Xarieus Says:
Apr 24, 2011 - Estonia was never communistic under their own rule. The Soviets occupied them for 50 years. It wasn't their choice. You're extremely arrogant.
Xarieus Says:
Apr 24, 2011 - Soviets destroyed any chance of them being a developed country by now? Yes, that's why they have the lowest debt in Europe, one of the fastest growing economys and extremely technologically advanced. If the Soviets hadn't occupied them they would be a European leader, but even after the Soviets, they have rebuilt strong.
gleefanatic2011 Says:
Apr 24, 2011 - well the fact that they were under communist rule for 50 years makes estonia a former soviet colony. So touche, douche.
trollionaire Says:
Apr 24, 2011 - estonians are very resilient people, very smart too, good at maths, computers, languages, most ive met can speak really good english. but the soviets did hold them back like they did to every satellite state they occupied. so yes they would be a developed country by now if not for the soviets, regardless of low debt which doesnt necessarily mean much (picture a homeless man with low debt). but at least what the soviets did to ukraine did not happen in estonia

Mar 17, 2012 - I lived in tallin for long time. I wasn't happy. now, in europe estonia is not the country, like other ussr-baltic countries. Here there is no economy, here is no industry, the youth doesn't have future (all leave in western europe or in russia to study or work). Yes here people live with freedom, only it is necessary to nobody.
