If the Soviets hadn't occupied them they would be a European leader, but even after the Soviets, they have rebuilt strong.

Apr 24, 2011 - estonians are very resilient people, very smart too, good at maths, computers, languages, most ive met can speak really good english. but the soviets did hold them back like they did to every satellite state they occupied. so yes they would be a developed country by now if not for the soviets, regardless of low debt which doesnt necessarily mean much (picture a homeless man with low debt). but at least what the soviets did to ukraine did not happen in estonia

Here there is no economy, here is no industry, the youth doesn't have future (all leave in western europe or in russia to study or work).
