Duration: 3:31
Description:
Original song from 1984 by this mortal coil Soundtrack from the movie "The Lovely Bones" (Desde mi Cielo) hearing this song is to hear something heavenly thank you Elizabeth Fraser for this emotional song ..LYRICS:::::::::::On the floating, shipless, oceans I did all my best to smile til your singing eyes and fingers drew me loving into your eyes. And you sang "Sail to me, sail to me, Let me enfold you." Here I am, here I am waiting to hold you. Did I dream you dreamed about me? Were you here when I was full sail? Now my foolish boat is leaning, broken lovelorn on your rocks. For you sang "Touch me not, touch me not, Come back tomorrow." Oh my heart, oh my heart shies from the sorrow. I'm as puzzled as a newborn child. I'm as riddled as the tide. Should I stand amid the breakers? Or shall I lie with death my bride? Here me sing: "Swim to me, swim to me, Let me enfold you."

Mar 28, 2012 - You neglected to mention one important fact about this song: it's a Tim Buckley cover!!

Apr 2, 2012 - The "Didnt I Dream you dreamed about me" line was sampled in the old school 90s techno track 'Temple Of Dreams' by Messiah....

Apr 19, 2012 - I love this movie and it made me cry too, but more than that is showed the most beautiful surrealistic images that we could imagine. By the way, she wasn't in heaven when Tim Buckley's song played it the movie. She was still in the "in between". Then at the end of the movie she went to heaven.

El tema es original de Tim Buckley y Larry Becket, apareció por primera ves en el Starsailor de Tim B. alrededor de 1970. Apr 28, 2012 - Those who love the book hate the film, and vice-versa. I'm one of the latter, mainly because of this song

May 1, 2012 - No movie has ever made me cry as much as Lovely Bones did.

May 2, 2012 - I think the movie leaves you thinking :) Amazing!
jkryanspark Says:
May 4, 2012 - I loved the film but the book wanted to make me puke. Peter Jackson's screenplay was responsible for most of the great lines. The book was a feminist manifesto.

May 6, 2012 - Belissimo
CykciM Says:
May 8, 2012 - The first verse is "Long afloat on shipless oceans / I did all my best to smile / 'til your singing eyes and fingers / drew me loving to your isle". And the 2nd verse starts "Did I dream you dreamed about me? / Were you hare when I was fox?". She sings "were you here when I was flotsam?", which fits the sea theme but misses the point: sirens don't just watch you float, they lure you to your death on the rocks. (Why did YouTube remove the ability to add line breaks in comments? Lame.)

jkryanspark Says:
May 12, 2012 - I wasn't trying to be funny but I'll take the laugh. Ms. Sebold, the books author wrote the book from a horrific incident in her life and I feel for her. The Lovely Bones was a form of catharsis for her but she used the opportunity to hit us over the head with her feminist views.
godofwar871124 Says:
May 19, 2012 - Agreed completely. This was one time when a movie was based on book that was actually better then the book.
jkryanspark Says:
May 19, 2012 - Did you sense in the movie that Susie's mom had an affair with the Detective and that it had been cut from the movie, thankfully. Sometimes less is more and Jackson cut the fat from the tedious book nicely. Why though was the book a best seller and the movie a flop?

Mar 25, 2012 - I don't know...any sound that makes me vomit in the mouth a little is probably a bad thing, regardless of personal preference. However, my view is probably twisted by the fact that every other version of this song (give or take a few) is brilliant.
