Dec 29, 2011 - @JFTerson There are quite a few great singer/songwriter artists out there.. they're just not promoted by mainstream media.Look up Ray Lamontagne, for instance.. great lyrics, and nice groove :)

Dec 30, 2011 - @Alexthebarbarian What I've found lakely is a large number of songwriters from "back in the day" are now writing for the talent of today.

Dec 31, 2011 - @Alexthebarbarian Amen.Dylan if he wrote and played those songs today would have never got the mediatic exposure he got back in the days. The good artists are there, they have just become part of a niche, and most people won't go looking for those, just react to what is played in mainstream media, which is admittedly 80% bs.

Alexthebarbarian Says:
Dec 3, 2011 - @JFTerson I disagree, I think there are plenty of prolific songwriters today and will continue to be until the day music dies. There will never be another great songwriter like Bob Dylan, true, but that doesn't mean that the present and future don't hold songwriters with a different greatness that may even surpass Dylan's.
