Nearly every superhero has it, it's almost a must.An inner conflict is when the character is stuck with a private dilemma he finds hard to come to a solution on, he disagrees with himself and is lost, thus it is a conflict, and since it's private, it's an inner conflict.

It might also be categorized with "should I kill or ban doomsday?", "should I stop protecting the city?", since it's the same case. Also, there really is no conflict with whether to kill or not. Batman is a Dark Knight, not an avenger.
