May 23, 2012 - "influential people that would agree with me."Yet none who are Bibilical scholars, none who are grounded in the historical understanding of those wrote it, or the language from which it originates.Further, the Catholic Church on THEOLOGICAL grounds already extrapolates the Bible. The Trinity? Purgatory? Transignification? None of these things are MENTIONED in the Bible, yet the Church teaches them. Are you saying that's a violation too? With your LITERAL stance on the Bible, you'd have to.

Alaskaslim Says:

May 23, 2012 - The entire problem with your appraoch is that you take the Bible as a Fundamentalist would and I LAUGH at that.Your understanding of the book is as shallow and tenous as theirs, and that's why I don't have to play by your damn rules. I have two millenia of PRECEDENT, and entire generations of scholars backing me up, I DO NOT answer to an interpretation of a Bible that is AT BEST 500 years old, by people who were NOT grounded in the very knowledge I listed above.

May 23, 2012 - Let's face it some of the worst atrocities in the world are shared by atheists and believers alike. Atheism today is increasingly toxic and will become just as dangerous as Roman Catholicism was during the middle ages. Abuse from believers on unbelievers and abuse from unbelievers on believers is characteristic of planet earth. When are we going to learn to live with each other with mutual respect and tolerance?

darkangel2139 Says:

May 23, 2012 - Not sure I agree. Those are totalitarian regimes, and they have nothing to do with religion. Totalitarian regimes can be either religious or non-religious.Check out Sweden, they are one of the most non-religious countries in the world, and they are doing fine.

Alaskaslim Says:

May 23, 2012 - " totalitarian regimes"No, Birth rates all across Europe are low. One of the worst is Russia, they've been in a decline since the 1990s, dropped by over 10 million people, and it doesn't seem to be stopping. It is an observable FACT, that if you have an aging workforce, your economic output goes down, DRASTICALLY, nevermind the social implications of elderly make more of the population, who by defualt have more power, and get benefits... running their countries right into the ground.

May 23, 2012 - sorry man, again u got the wrong info.. no such thing as 70 angels in Quran.. i cant give feedback of a false infono such thing as utterly destroy if they do not submit to islam.. if not i wont say i respect what u believeagain, u cant pick 1 word and interpret it as whole.. its just plain stupid.. or did u read harry potter book and skipped all of the story except for " and so young harry killed the old man"show me the wiki link then

keropokbawang Says:

May 23, 2012 - im sorry what was the question again? u're replying too much i cant keep up.. that y i just keep it short and prefer other method instead.. the man I admire have a lot of false accusation to him.. read the history from islamic web instead and u will get the idea.. its too much to be said here.. i cant spoon feed u all the time.. learn to search for the truth instead of bluntly follow any accusation.. and like i said, slavery is not from Quran, its even there be4 the Quran been sent down

keropokbawang Says:

May 23, 2012 - i dont get it what u trying to ask.. faith is faith.. virtue is virtue.. well? faith can lead to virtue.. but by showing virtue doesnt mean u have the faith (in this case obviously faith to god).. maybe u should refer dictionary more?

mybestideas1 Says:

May 23, 2012 - Why are you so ugly? This is such imorral hate-laced question. I am an atheist and the only thing that makes me angry is people like you who will slap me and then wonder why they get it back. Atheism is based on proven facts so atheists have no reasons to be angry as science is disproving one by one biblical assertion.

alex29443 Says:

May 24, 2012 - the slavery question was simply the moral dilema posed by slavery tolerance/rules about slavery when put in the context of todays view of slavery as evil, either the qur'an is imperfect, which means it isn't divine, or it actually is divine and we are forced to see that god is without a perfect morality, theerefore not a benevolent god.Again you're right, it's in the hadith, but none of this changes the fact that martyrs are guaranteed to go to heaven and recieve a 'vast reward' 4:74

alex29443 Says:

May 24, 2012 - you are dancing around martyrdom quite piteously, please deal with the meat of the fact that martyrs are, admired, respected and supposedly rewarded in Islam and in the qur'an. This is not a moral teaching, this is military pragmatism of a very cold nature. not something a moral god god would encourage or require.Faith - 'Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.''spiritual apprehension' means not actually thinking about it, try to justify your faith.

alex29443 Says:

May 24, 2012 - There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) on migration; he (the Holy Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man) (Sahih Muslim 3901)- false accusations huh?

alex29443 Says:

May 24, 2012 - when I say justify your faith I mean with real evidence not 'I feel in in my heart' which is something I keep hearing. that ammounts to 'I have faith because I want to' - evidence please. If you can't justify your faith, please consider the idea that the faith itself comes, not from a divine origin, but from the constant re-affirmation of the prayer itself.

darkangel2139 Says:

May 24, 2012 - And where's the proof that one led to the other ? You can't make connections like these without proper proof, and you also need to consider the other possible options before you get there.I could say people with mustaches are evil, and point to Hitler. And even if that were true, that wouldn't make the mustache the cause of Hitler being evil.

Alaskaslim Says:

May 24, 2012 - "And where's the proof that one led to the other ?"Population controls matched with Statist policies, like China's one child policy.Plus, you can compare, the more religous nations, tend to have younger populations. The United States, more Religous than Europe, has slightly higher population growth. Even among the STATES, you can see this. The more religous STATES like Georgia, have higher population growth, and BETTER economic growth, than say, California.

marilynlewis1 Says:

May 24, 2012 - Well done Greta, how brave are you. Religion has played its role in teaching the world rules and laws to live by 'thou shall not kill' thou shall not steel' - time to move on from this pretense and live in the real world now. Keep going girl and spread the word. My 13 year old son who is an Atheist just told me to watch this video, it has brought clarification to us all, not that we doubted it but Greta has a wonderful way of explaining all of evil that religion has delivered to the world :-)

Lordradost Says:

May 25, 2012 - Damn well done. Cheers, hugs, go on and inspire. The US has a long way to go, indeed. I was shocked by the level of ignorance, inbred news and opinionated labeling culture, which breeds really backwards asinine religious views in the "most secular" country on earth...

keropokbawang Says:

May 26, 2012 - Hi~! sorry i've been away for a while.. i just got a baby Alhamdulillah (praise to Allah).. i might not be able to comment constantly now since i have a lot to do in my hands, also im getting busy in my work.. for that i will give u a few links.. this one is a detailed explanation about slavery in Islam: en [dot] wikipedia [dot] org/wiki/Islamic_views_on_slaveryQuran translation: quranexplorer [dot] comFaith: contra-mundum [dot] org/schirrmacher/faith [dot]htmlothers: suhaibwebb [dot] com

keropokbawang Says:

May 26, 2012 - alhamdulillah.. what i mean by false accusation is.. for example: i killed a man coz i wanna protect my family, but ppl accuse me evil murderer instead..

keropokbawang Says:

godhunterak47 Says:

May 27, 2012 - Atheism is not an opinion, Atheism is more of a proven observable fact for thousands of years it has been true there is no proof or evidence of any god ever to existMost Atheist know more about your gods than so called christians/believers do so it gets frustrating to have to explain over and over again to people with misguided fallacies why their belief system is based on lies and, most of the stuff they have been told about Atheist is wrong. Like their ears are not connected to their brain.

alex29443 Says:

May 27, 2012 - congradulations. I would be sure to praise your wife too, she did all the work.on the subject of false accusations, I 'acused' your prophet of tolerating and taking part in slavery, I provided good evidence that he did, it is not a matter of false acusations, but of fact. You've ducked the question, and the links you sent actually agree with me. slavery might have been endemic when the qur'an was written, but that isn't an excuse so much as revealing its human origin.

alex29443 Says:

May 27, 2012 - anyway, good luck.I'll leave you with this: 'god' - invisible, intangible, omnipresent, omni-benevolent, omnipotent, perfectly just, perfectly merciful and has a plan but gives us free will, has a true religion but refuses to spread it himself.really?... I mean that isn't even a logically consistent set of traits. Before even looking at historical context or scientific evidence or validity of specific claims. we must remember that at the centre of abrahamic religion is a god who can't exist.

BravoTheLionhearted Says:

May 27, 2012 - assholes are going to use whatever tricks they can to perpetuate their assholery, including religion, politics, environmentalism, etc.
