Apr 4, 2012 - I know it may not be 'correct' to say so, but as a High School teacher I always punish misbehaviour in a socially-aware manner. It's all to do with the way they've been brought up.It makes perfect sense to me to hand out a lighter range of punishments to wealthier, middle class kids- their parents' shame & disapproval is usually harsh enough punishment. Poorer/lower orders of society that couldn't care less will always need to be hit harder to realise the extent of their guilt.
