Aug 29, 2011 - ghostviddebunker - I think you are confused. I shot footage of the flood the spring. It looked just like this. We have evidence of the Hurricane of '38 in most forrests in VT. You can go out and count up about 60 rings of branches on White pines. On the 64th ring of branches you'll see the tree is split into two trunks. That hurricaine killed 600 people in New England. Humans always live in flood plains...

Sep 1, 2011 - As a generational Vermonter this is the worst flooding I have ever seen,my grand parents lived through the 1927 flood.Since 1745 my family has lived off the land here ,We lost our barn but saved our cows and calfs. We also lost all our feed corn to the flood.I'll tell you one thing I have always felt blessed to live here, and I have never felt as proud of our little state as I do now. Some other farms have taken my cows .We Vermonters take care of each other, never did need the goverment. GB VT.
AlMayer1100 Says:
Sep 3, 2011 - Right. The smaller the community the more people care for each other. Thats why there shouldn't be big accumulations of people living together. That makes things worse (Hopi philosophy).

Aug 29, 2011 - i am originally a florida resident from the costal side where they see these things all the time year after year. But they are prepared for it with sand bags and national gaurd on wait and everything.I live in vermont nowVermont never ever ever sees these things EVER last time they saw something like this was in the late 1800s. So..... how do you prepare a state that never sees this kinda thing? You don't... you cross your fingers and pray for everything to be alright
