Nov 11, 2010 - @highschoolmusical841 Sometimes forget why I've walked into a room, but I remember every little detail from those days. Great nights at the Marquee and Flamingo, and most of the soon-to-be-big-name bands we saw didn't even have record contracts yet. Remember regularly rubbing shoulders with The Who in The Ship in Wardour Street. Not sure about dole money but, as an East End boy, I only knew ONE student. Walking into the Marquee and hearing the Brian Auger Trinity warming the crowd. Magic!

Jun 13, 2011 - Actually The Action did record the song "Do I Love You..." as a demo for Decca Records in 1965 with Mike Vernon producing; Decca passed on the band so they went with Parlophone which yielded producer George Martin. Circa 2001 a couple of UK fans saw an eBay advert for someone in the States who was selling the song on acetate by The Action & they snagged it. The hope is that this track will be featured as a bonus item to accompany the forthcoming book about The Action and the mod movement.

Sep 19, 2010 - I was also at that gig -- I first saw them as The Boys supporting The Who at the Marquee in 1963. They were too much competition for The Who and they only lasted a couple of weeks! I've got a DVD of the 100 Club gig.TheMarquee63
