Feb 27, 2012 - the fuck is that blackguy talking about?
BeyondTheTrailer Says:
Feb 28, 2012 - I know all about silent actors having trouble transitioning to talkies - what I was unaware of was how many foreign accented actors were working in Hollywood's silent movies. Please pay attention to the specifics of the matter at hand before attacking.- Grace
KARZJR Says:
Feb 28, 2012 - talking while accenting every other WORD is sometimes but USUALLY very BORING.
linkfan160 Says:
Mar 2, 2012 - HA! THE ARTIST WON 5 OSCARS INCLUDING BEST PICTURE! IN YOUR F*CKING FACE! I TOLD YOU! I TOLD YOU IT WAS AWESOME!
SatchmoSings Says:
Mar 2, 2012 - I remember when Sofia Coppola's "Lost In Translation" was released; it was a shit movie but everyone was afraid to say so because of what Sofia Coppola's dad would do if anyone said how shitty this film really was."Lost In Translation" reminded me of going to my boss's house and oohing & aahing over a finger painting his daughter had done that was tacked up on the 'fridgeMeanwhile everyone knew that the boss's daughter was a grown woman who DIDNT live in a group home!
sciencelab141 Says:
Mar 3, 2012 - The movie is really good!
2legit2quitz Says:
Mar 3, 2012 - Set in the late 20's, but the shooting is more 40's esque, and technically kodaks vision 3 500t is too fine making it more 50's era aesthetic. This is why Citizen Kane is all time best by story, acting, set, production, and technique.
TheLOren1975 Says:
Mar 3, 2012 - There is no talking in the movie?
celticghillies03 Says:
Mar 4, 2012 - That's right, it's a silent movie like the ones from the 1920's. But don't let the fact that it's silent turn you away, it's a really good movie!
uKooKu Says:
Mar 11, 2012 - The guy with the trendy knit cap had the most intelligent things to say, until he completely blew it at the end as referenced elsewhere above by 45vampires. Who watches silent films as a rule anymore? Two people in their 100's? This was one great risk that payed off - it's a Crossover Film. Young people should see it. Wear your trendy knit cap!
watarukannuzuki Says:
Mar 11, 2012 - A surface-y experience? Hmm, never heard that before. I think I'm going to steal that phrase ;P
90mv Says:
Mar 14, 2012 - awesome
jcgonzmo Says:
Mar 15, 2012 - This is the first silent film I have ever seen, an I love it!
sharon4971 Says:
Mar 17, 2012 - Fucking u off who are complain my Jean! it was absolutely incredible :)
xHaimarux Says:
Mar 17, 2012 - I think you kinda ruined the ending for some people. While I was watching it, I had no idea who the main actor was, or of his race until the ending. That was the big surprise!
DRush76 Says:
Mar 18, 2012 - ["Apparently, many silent film stars were immigrants and had thick accents. The Artist takes advantage of this history and Jean Dujardin's character has a thick french accent, which is why he is so opposed to doing talkies."]Really? Because the movie never hinted this.
uKooKu Says:
Mar 24, 2012 - And another thing ... the talky blonde, Grace Randolph: "I hope he learns English". After all the verbal diarrhea, she actually gave the movie a 9. She should have LED with that.
twd0003 Says:
Apr 1, 2012 - The movie has at leasr 2 scenes with spoken dialogue, did she actually watch the film she was reviewing?
wrighb10 Says:
Apr 7, 2012 - This film was a masterpiece. Now let me get this straight, this chick has a problem with The Artist but then she claims to have enjoyed shit films like Ghost Rider and Clash of the Titans?!? This show is a joke.
stillsjud Says:
Apr 8, 2012 - I want to punch people
fihsy297 Says:
Apr 12, 2012 - That black guy with the glasses was a fucking douchebag. He had no clue what he was on about

Apr 13, 2012 - Grace you may or may not remember but im the one who told you the story about how i wanted to see the artist but my family said it would be wasting our money...then it was nominated for best picture...and won.. and then we finally got to see it and my mother liked it...just thought you'd liked to know how the story ended
Shadowfussel Says:
Apr 26, 2012 - This film really is a masterpiece...I didn't like silent film but I loved this one. It is just so brilliant!

deusirae76 Says:
Feb 27, 2012 - Just because you don't like silent and black&white movies doesn't mean everyone must share your opinion. I've seen all the movies that were selected, and The Artist was clearly the best out of the bunch.
