Jan 31, 2012 - This is how it's done. Still good to see the same spirit came through in the final product. It took some special real characters to make this movie. I also had a BMX at the time and its interesting to note that the BMX used in the rehearsal isn't the same as the bike in the actual movie. Probably too expensive. It did look good, and of course I got a liitle envious, as I'd had to save all year and in America back then they had greater choice in products like Mongoose etc. Those used to cost $300

May 12, 2012 - Mr. Avildsen,It is quite an honor for you to be here talking to us on YouTube. I have been a big fan of your work since I was a little boy. This film in specific was so amazing and moving when I was a kid. I went to this apartment building on my last trip to LA, in 2004. The wooden gate has been replaced by a locked fence which looks alot like the one in this rehearsal video. What can I say, I'm a huge fan of this film still.
