As for general energy,healing, and metaphysical practice-I use runes.They are more specific for my practice but I'm amazed at the similarity as to the ways you use your stones.You're entirely correct in that it is individually motivated.Also it helps to use natural objects as it is intrinsic to our Pagan Path.Hope you made it safely through that winter blast and your beautiful garden didn't lose too many blooms.
