Unicom frequencies as well as others are on the navigation maps and airport directories. Proper radio communication is taught in primary training.

Dec 14, 2011 - @zim01001 its all eye and stick & rudder. You line it up on final and work the rudder to keep it straight, adjust power and once you know you will reach runway, you go off power completly (though that depends on what you're flying)
