Title: VAUGHN GITTIN JR: DRIFTING IN THE K.S.A.

Description:
From 2010 Formula Drift Champion, Vaughn Gittin Jr.: "Earlier this year, I had the pleasure to visit Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a guest of Ford Middle East to perform in a demo as part of the Action Ha race weekend at of Al Reem Circuit. I didn't know exactly what to expect heading to the Middle East, but I'm always down for new experiences and adventures. Once I arrived I was completely blown away by the love of motorsports, and even more specifically, the love for drifting by the locals. Everyone I met, from Princes, to other professional drivers, to swarms of fans, treated me with amazing hospitality and kindness. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget and I look forward to coming back to the K.S.A!"After the event I stayed a couple days extra to film 'Drifting in the K.S.A'. Thanks to the kindness of the entire Al Reem Circuit team, they let me get crazy throughout the entire motorsports complex. Nothing was off-limits and I had a blast linking one track to the next through the parking lots and garages and into storage areas basically doing whatever came to mind that would be fun and challenging. Aside from drifting the entire complex, one of my most memorable parts of the whole trip was after we finished shooting and we were hot, dusty, and dead-tired, we ended up putting on a impromptu drift-day with some of the locals that came to spectate the shoot. I was teaching them how to drift, change tires, different driving techniques, and they were so pumped up. While there were no pro's to show us the ropes back in the day, it reminded me of when I first started; that smile that stays when you link your first drift and the genuine passion to get better and conquer the challenges. I had a blast hanging out and enjoying what drifting is all about!"Check out the video "DRIFTING IN THE K.S.A", where Vaughn Gittin Jr and his Monster Energy Falken Tire Ford Mustang use the Al Reem Circuit in Saudi Arabia as their personal playground.

Apr 6, 2012 - Ken Block makes this guy look slow. Did get to see Vaughn in person though, he's really clean although a local guy was doing a bit better than him in a 240.

WTFisDrifting Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - ken block has awd he wouldnt do as good in rwd like this mustang

FallCityKid Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - Lol@that....all the time Ken spends behind a wheel learning car control and you don't think he could do as well or better in a rwd. I disagree completely...I'd give it 10 minutes tops for him to adjust to rwd and be better than vaughn.

WTFisDrifting Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - ken block is only known cause of his vid Jr is known cause he is one of the best in FD there s a big difference

FallCityKid Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - Ken Block is known for owning DC...and it makes it even sadder if vaughn is being outdriven by a man that isn't a professional driver haha. And vaughn being one of the best drivers is arguable. As I said, in north carolina he was shown up by one of the local guys in a LS1 240.The only difference between awd drifting and rwd drifting is that with rwd you have to counter steer where with awd you pretty much turn the wheels where you want to go. I'm pretty sure block can handle it.

WTFisDrifting Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - If block is so great than why does barely ever win in any of the event hes in.

FallCityKid Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - Do you know how much harder rally racing is than drifting?? How many 17 year olds do you see out there actually drifting pretty decently with their fanboy 240s? Now how many 17 year olds do you see driving 70mph on dirt and rock through a winding forest without crashing the first turn? Thought so..

WTFisDrifting Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - Most people who become pro rally start when there 16 plus to start up on drifting is cheaper thats why more people do it. Rod Millen a decorated rally driver said the only difference between rally and drifting was the speed. AWD.

FallCityKid Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - Drifting isn't cheaper...at least in rally you can make your tires last more than a day. and who are you to say that most people start at 16? I'm really feeling like you pulled that one out of your ass, to be quite honest. At least until you actually do a widespread poll among a large group of rally drivers...which I'm guessing won't happen. You do know there are a multitude of FWD rally cars, right? Do your research before pretending you have a legitimate argument.

FallCityKid Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - And that's so far off, drifting is a one man sport. Normally rally is a two man sport just to be able to keep up with the turns coming at you at high speeds.

WTFisDrifting Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - If your going to argue with a very successful rally champ then I cant be bothered anymore. I love both sports lets leave it at that

FallCityKid Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - Lol, it's one guys opinion. Just as it's my opinion that rally is worlds harder than drift. You're taking it personally...I drift myself, so it's not like I'm downing on drift, just acknowledging that rally takes more skill and quicker thinking.

SuperVman95 Says:

Apr 19, 2012 - They are 2 different sports with nothing in common. Comparing drifting to rallying isn't equal. Whatever you think is best is your opinion but like most people I came here to see some drifting.
