Feb 24, 2010 - JT...If I could only have one or the other.. I would take a good saw (Just my opinion). I can still split wood with a saw (And some wooden wedges).. and cut the wood as well. The only benefit to an ax is that it will last longer than a saw (unless I had some extra blades)

Feb 24, 2010 - Those pants are real go in those leaves couple of times the legs disapeared

Gunnslinger50 Says:

Feb 24, 2010 - Do in this situation Saw vs. Ax do we also have with us a decent size knife mabey 5 or more in. ? Three blades is not two much to bring with you: saw,ax,and knife 5 or less in. .

BushcraftOnFire Says:

Feb 24, 2010 - Ahhh...If he meant the TBT Tracker.. then yes.. I have used it quite a bit. Rubbish? LOL.. They have a learning curve.. but I definitely wouldn't say the knife is rubbish. There have been many reviews done on them.. Some people like them.. some don't..

Feb 24, 2010 - The log looked like hickory but split like sweet gum or elm.

BushcraftOnFire Says:

Feb 24, 2010 - Yes Asimov.. It was Hickory

Feb 24, 2010 - That sheath looks to bulcky for me.

mrsdjsdj Says:

Feb 24, 2010 - Wow.. Sure does make me appreciate my band saw and planer. I will have to try making one of these "off the grid chairs". It will probably work just as good as chairs made with a complete workshop of 220v power tools.

BushcraftOnFire Says:

Feb 24, 2010 - Pete...I'm not sure.. but it has to have a pouch for a coathanger :)

seanandfreddie1 Says:

Feb 26, 2010 - Good solid and comfortable chair Dave. Thanks for sharing

electronixTech Says:

Feb 28, 2010 - Hi Dave. I have been enjoying your videos. I was thinking a paracord lanyard would be good for that Tom Brown Tracker and have the lanyard wrapped around your wrist when using it to chop so if it ever slipped it wouldn't go flying. Thanks. Jim

BushcraftOnFire Says:

Feb 28, 2010 - Jim... If you look carefully at about 5:23 you will see that I have a lanyard on the TBT and you can see me wrapping it on my wrist before I begin chopping :) Good suggestion!

electronixTech Says:

Mar 2, 2010 - Yes, now I see you doing that. Sorry, must have been looking away at the time. Nice stool project. Thank you for the info.

BushcraftOnFire Says:

Mar 2, 2010 - In fact, I owe Jake a big "THANK YOU" for hooking me up with Corona.. they are a terrific saw! Thanks Bro

jwilson004athotmail Says:

Mar 2, 2010 - It's not necessary bro, just glad I can help you out with a fantastic tool!! But thank you for the recognition I appreciate it brother!!

TheMoviebuff77 Says:

May 8, 2010 - on that TBT dose that point in the middle of the blade ever hinder the work your doing? it looks like it would. great video by the way very interesting.

BushcraftOnFire Says:

May 8, 2010 - The point never gets in my way.. I like the blade.. and the front end works well for small work..

secretsquirrell13 Says:

Aug 21, 2010 - ive got the razortooth and its the best saw ive found so far.

weedeater64 Says:

Oct 17, 2010 - I used their product as a tree climber. Yeah they are sharp when you buy them, and cut great. Until they aren't sharp anymore, then they are worthless. They will ruin a file with the hardened teeth..The same is true of most saws on the market today, they are purpose built, the purpose being to sell you another when you dull the first, thus keeping these guys fat and rich.I haven't looked in a while, but back around 2003 Fanno Saw Works had some saws had some saws you could sharpen.

Storm13Cloud Says:

Feb 17, 2011 - I love the crow when you pull out the scythe - ish shaped saw HAHA

phrankus2009 Says:

Nov 5, 2011 - I don't think I have ever gone camping without making a stool, except when I am eating MREs ... In that case, I might go for three days without making a stool.
