I was merely saying we run code-2 so we may sneak up on the bad guys and catch them in the act, so they may go to court and be charged for their wrong-doing. This accident, though both were at fault, the officer was fired, credentials taken away, and has to serve 15 years, his life is over now. He was treated just like a normal civilian. Just because there is one bad officer doesnt mean all are. I havent violated any persons rights.

How would you even see the police car never mind judge its speed at that rate of approach? If cop was going normal speed there would have been plenty of room. Would your opinion of fault be different if instead of police car, 3 kids high on dope? If this is normal practice, that proves negligence with your department.

One, you can judge how fast a person is going by seeing how fast they are approaching. The police officer is mainly at fault because he was going way to fast. Which is really stupid. The kids failed to yeild to oncoming traffic when turning. No negligence in my Dept. I would have found the officer at fault because of excessive speeding.

May 22, 2012 - Also do your math on accident scenes correctly. When a car going southbound turns left and heads east. He then is going 35mph east. When the second car, oncoming to the first car is heading northbound 90mph and doesnt turn and hits the first car after its now heading eastbound, because it completed 75% of the turn. Then they approached each other at 90mph, because the first car is not heading opposite the direction of the 2nd car. Get it? ha im confusing. But yea that cop was very irresponsible

I doubt it.In order to yeild, the other party needs to be traveling at a normal rate of speed.Have you every tried to cross a 4 lane major highway on foot? It is extremely difficult and that is when they are traveling 70, imagine if they were going 125.
