My favorite moment was when Rick Hall of Fame Recording Studio got a call from Bobbie Gentry in the early 90's asking what he thought of Reba's cover of Fancy. Rick stated he preferred the r&b grit of their original and Bobbie laughed saying" Reba's money will spend like anyones!" I was also surprised to know that like Joni Mitchell, Bobbie was a serious oil painter who commanded 20,000 per painting in the late 1970's.
