Dec 6, 2011 - The problem is people not knowing HOW to drive in snow and ice, or knowing when to not try. Think your 2-wheel drive Acura with bald tires is going anywhere? You should have your license suspended until the roads thaw for the sake of everyone else.

Valyn66 Says:

Dec 9, 2011 - In Spokane, driving in the snow is a fact of life. This was an unusual situation where a THICK layer of black ice was covered by a couple of inches of snow. Normally they'd make it up this hill in a couple inches of snow just fine.

Dec 9, 2011 - Hehe well put

LtFoeHammer Says:

Dec 9, 2011 - It's still a poor judgment call. If I saw a half dozen cars in a heap at the bottom of a snowy hill I wouldn't try my luck. The bottom line here is that they're causing property damage because they can't control their vehicles. Responsible drivers pay attention to road conditions, especially in hazardous weather.

Valyn66 Says:

Dec 9, 2011 - Mmm, yes, the internet hindsight is lovely, isn't it? You think you're actually solving or even affecting anything with the comment, "Oh, well, duh, they should have known. I would have known. Because that's how amazing I am?"

LtFoeHammer Says:

Dec 9, 2011 - If I wanted to change the world I wouldn't be posting on Youtube. And frankly, yes they should have known. It really is about being responsible, knowing the limits of your vehicle and knowing alternate routes to wherever you need to go. I've seen pileups like in the video firsthand and I don't blame the weather. I doubt anyone injured by one of these drivers would disagree with me.

Dec 10, 2011 - 0:47 .. That car was beasting it!

Valyn66 Says:

Dec 13, 2011 - And I lived in Spokane for the first half of my life. Driving in the snow is a normal, routine occurrence. Flash freezes cleverly disguised by a 30-minute burst of fresh snow is NOT. Bad things happen in extreme weather driving. Instead of criticizing people in the absence of any contextual information, perhaps you should keep your petty "judgement calls" to yourself.

Dec 15, 2011 - Is it bad that I was laughing?

Honeyconsistency Says:

Dec 16, 2011 - That was insane! What street was that on? I live in Spokane as well and I have never seen something so bad!

Dec 18, 2011 - @LtFoeHammer Douche. As if you have any knowledge whatsoever behind this pile up. Just makes all the smart ass comments

420Vali Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - This is absolutely pathetic. I've driven on glare ice before too, which is what this may be. First off....im not sure why so many people are trying to drive up such a steep hill and not taking a different route. two...this is why people need to be taught elementary car control skills.

p0pzzy0oGStrang Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - local authorizes dont even bother dropping salt.. wtf when I walk outside giant trucks always dropping salt in my neighborhood. wouldn't wanna live in this shit hole paying taxes for nothing. I guess that doesn't matter though, all the damage here isn't worth a few grains of salt

mrchangwang11 Says:

Feb 5, 2012 - @420Vali actually this is at the bottom of the south hill (downtown) these people were downtown and their house was on the south hill.... theres other routes but they are just as steep or steeper. the year that this happened we got like 4-5 feet of snow so..... ur wrong and stupid and need to learn your facts before you go making fun of people about there driving skills.

Gymmarn Says:

Feb 15, 2012 - Buy fucking snowtires for the vinter...

xJisJis Says:

Mar 3, 2012 - Do you even live here? Last year when this all happened the ice was so bad you couldn't step outside without needing a pair of ice skates. Making me rage.

Mar 23, 2012 - Typically Spokanites can handle the snow quite well. Sometimes they drive like Portlanders... as seen in this video. Seriously, the south hills are a bitch in winter
