May 11, 2012 - never read the book, based off the preview alone, this is what I got from it, not knowing anything about this story until I just saw this preview. its of a troubled girl who was molested and now she is a psycho path who sees things thats not real, being the era is vintage, meds are not availabl so she takes her clothes off at night and dances around the fire. she cant find love so she fights it. how close am I?

May 11, 2012 - I really loved Mia's interpretation of Jane. I think when it comes down to it an adaption of a book will never please everyone because everyone connects so personally with a book and in a film your having someone else's interpretation of something that you've had such a close relationship with I guess. I liked it a lot. But recognise my opinion is no more entitled than yours.

May 11, 2012 - Nothing can persuade one better than the humbleness of the persuader. You are right, and it seems to be absolutely obvious now that Jane Eyre is a book that can be interpreted in many ways, and that my personal interpretation is simply incompatible with the movie's. Still, I must say, that my own vision of the story has become so dear to me, that I fear I am unable to accept another.

May 12, 2012 - Mr. Rotchester was hot, and they were all great actors. I loved the storyline and it was just a great movie all together.

May 13, 2012 - The older woman in the trailer was Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice, no?

May 13, 2012 - yeah! i was thinking that myself! like i never remember in the movie her talking about something she saw.
LisaCrazyFingers Says:
May 14, 2012 - Totally! I'm reading the book now, and in the book she never actually sees anyone, so I suppose this movie is right. I've seen all the movie versions and honestly, although the soundtrack, scenery, actors in this movie are all fantastic, its not the best.

May 16, 2012 - so is he like a vampire or somthing? cause his eyes were jet black.

May 17, 2012 - I think this version is better than the Zeffirelli's one because this is more faithful to the book. In that one they cut all the important scenes like when they talk at dawn after they sent away Mason with the doctor and the fact that Jane finds out that the Rivers are her cousins. Fassbender is way too good looking for the role of Mr. Rochester but he's perfect anyway. And Mia is perfect as well. I really like this version!

shamsay1 Says:
May 27, 2012 - Almost as far off as you can get, I suppose. Read the book, it's magnificent.

diamondinchrist Says:
May 11, 2012 - In reference to the era, I agree that it was suitable. But the study of the characters was lacking. Jane Eyre wasn't the same as in the novel. Mr. Rochester seemed like a gloomy, grumpy, miserable man, and lacked his playful and sociable side as it is revealed in the book.
