Title: Clumsy Lover - Kelly Buckley
Added: Feb 13, 2009
Author: PassionforPiping
Duration: 1:24
Description:
The Clumsy Lover Jig, as performed by Kelly Buckley. This song was originally written by Neil Dickie.I would like to tribute this song to one of my mentors, Scott MacAulay, who passed away September 10th, 2008. Scott was an inspiration to me and countless others in the piping community. Most recently, he fulfilled his passion for piping as the founding director of the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada, located in PEI. Scott, you will be dearly missed.

May 14, 2010 - looking at the mounts and the fact that there isn't a bead or a "lip"(which is what it looks more like) on the ferrule they are MacDougalls or Glens(David Glen)

Jul 5, 2010 - "played by a female all the more special I think." What a silly comment. The best teacher I had in primary school Mrs Seonaid MacAulay was a great piper , also my granny's cousin Rona Lightfoot & my aunt's daughter & granddughters who were fine pipers, not to mention the great Anna Murray & Margaret Stewart . Wick Girls Pipe Band, Dagenham Girl Pipers etc Well played - end of story.

Feb 19, 2011 - Working at Fort Snelling, living on site, when I heard pipes on a foggy morn--perfect! There, near the Twin Cities international airport was a lone piper practicing "where [he] wouldn't bother anyone." This tune I'd not heard before, and I asked its name. Alas, I've forgotten the piper's own! I brought out some Lagavulin, and we shared a dram. Alas also, that libation now too expensive for a working man. But, the fond memory endures, and I request this song and "Amazing Grace" at my ending.

Sep 10, 2011 - Great tune and well played, but even if it's a little different from Neil Dickie's original composition, i believe it's still a hornpipe, not a jig as stated. There is a jig version of this tune, but that sounds different again.
pktemple8 Says:
Sep 21, 2011 - Sounds like it's played on uilleann pipes, judging by the changing harmonic notes in the background. Or else there is a second bagpipe playing the harmony along with the main part
BillMcVey1 Says:
Sep 27, 2011 - I don't think they're uilleann pipes, the register would be different. I think it's as you said, another piper is in the background playing the seconds or something.
tom4526 Says:
Oct 10, 2011 - It's the sound of two bagpipes playing at once. One is doing the harmony and the other is playing the melody. Whether it's simply overdubbing or two players at once is anyone's guess.
