These debates on drum solos on this and other videos reminds me of the debate about which martial art is the best or hardest. And I find that people who have a preference towards one will be biased towards that. People who prefer jazz say Buddy Rich was better, people who prefer rock say John Bonham was better. But even as someone who prefers rock, there is no way I would say Travis Barker is better than Buddy, LOL.

May 20, 2012 - I didn't say he said it, I'm saying he would say it. People don't like to think of themselves as being better than their idols. Gene Krupa saying Buddy Rich is better is not proof that Buddy Rich is better. Krupa was not going to come out and say he was better, he was practicing modesty. He may or may not have really thought that, but him saying so is not proof that it is.
