May 3, 2012 - I have no clue why all these people are talking bout their age and being immature.. Wtf!?

Kanakotka Says:

May 7, 2012 - The comment no longer exists, but judging by what you're saying, if they were talking about EvE, then you are correct, it certainly is a full time job, and has no redeeming qualities. WoW, however, which is the other thing you might be talking about, is objectively brilliant in multiple ways, and would make your comment highly inaccurate.

Deeredman4 Says:

May 7, 2012 - Judging by the fact you could make the assumption that I was talking about WoW proves my point. Yes, WoW has alot of cool toys and trinkets but at the end of the day you have to admit that if you want to play WoW seriously it becomes a repetitive chore that must be addressed daily. You must plan your activities around WoW in which WoW takes precedence over all other aspects of your life. You must also follow a chain of command while playing WoW. All of this together is very reminiscent of a job.

Kanakotka Says:

May 7, 2012 - Uhh... have you been watching Fox news or something a little in the excess? I played WoW from vanilla to second expansion (Wrath of the Lich King), and apart from the leveling progress (Which to me was the most enjoyable part), as a progression raider (someone who you would call ''seriously playing WoW'') it roughly required 4-5 hours per week from me. Some weeks i played more than that, and especially during Burning Crusade's time, the alloted minimum was twice that -->

Kanakotka Says:

May 7, 2012 - --> But at no point in time did it come anywhere reminiscing a job, or taking any precedence over any other aspect of my life. At the same time i had a WoW subscription, i was playing a plethora of games, holding a job, and still having more than enough time to socialize. (That is, outside, not merely through computer or in WoW, though that was possible aswell). You're just misinformed, it's prefectly normal. But please don't try to press your misinformation on subjects you know nothing about.

Deeredman4 Says:

May 7, 2012 - Umm...I was a hardcore raider for 3 years...I'm speaking from my personal experience of endgame World of Warcraft you have to be on at a certain time every week to run an instance. When your not online you are doing dailies to save money for repairs, gems, potions, and sometimes food unless the guild provides. Some guilds you have to pay a fee or collect so many resources a week to raid and if your the guild enchanter/tank/healer(like I was). then you are usually obligated to farm enchants :|

Deeredman4 Says:

May 7, 2012 - So yes in order to play seriously play WoW it has to become your life else you cannot raid...and if you cannot raid you cannot progress :| I would like to point out that you do not know me and so therefore cannot make the assumption that I am "misinformed" it is a common joke between world of warcraft players to call WoW "World of Warcrack" I've been WoW free for almost a year now...and I'm happy that even though my friends still try to pull me back in I have the willpower to say no this time.

Kanakotka Says:

May 8, 2012 - In a guild where you pay fees to be in? Need to grind dailies for repairs? What sort of bizarre WoW did you play, and in what sort of bizarre guild? My guild was in top 100, and i didn't need to commit more than i stated in any manner of ways. Yeah, i heard the joke too, and yeah, some of our guildmates were pretty much on 24/7, though part of those just idled and used it as a chat program to keep in touch with guildies before VOIP programs got more common.

Deeredman4 Says:

May 8, 2012 - My best guild was on Zul'Jin server we were in the first 10 to clear ICC back in wrath I didn't pay fees in this guild but I have been in guilds like that before, and yes I had to grind dailies to make money so I could fix my armor we didn't have the money automatically going into the guild bank like they have now and buy potions the guild provided food but guess who the cook was? but at least the guild provided free enchants...but as the healer guess who usually got stuck farming the mats :|

Kanakotka Says:

May 9, 2012 - I played both offtank and a healer in said guild, though since our maintank had a life, just like everyone else in the guild, as well as a wife, not like everyone else in the guild, sometimes he was absent and i main tanked in rotation with our other offtanker. I also had a druid with gear for both healing and melee, as well as talents. Note that this was before the dual talent system, so i needed to toss in 50~G every time i swapped talents. Getting this amount took upwards to an hour.

Kanakotka Says:

May 9, 2012 - Also landing first ICC means nothing. We landed first everything on our server, and the reason for that was that we raided in the afternoon, from around 5 pm to 8pm, though sometimes that stretched further, or shorter, depending on instances and group compositions. We allowed a lot of more casual + pvp oriented players in the guild on bigger raids if we were lacking people, and we still managed just fine.

Deeredman4 Says:

May 9, 2012 - Ok, then how much were you actually out of the house when all this was going on, because between my guild duties and my personal duties inside the World of Warcraft I was forced to spend all of my free time on the game. I had to quit because it was ruining my life. I lost my girlfriend, I lost alot of my friends, I was never around for family functions like birthday parties or reunions because I had to keep up with my responsibilities in the game I was the best geared heals I knew of when I quit

Deeredman4 Says:

May 9, 2012 - I'm also curious if it might be the game talking when you say you have a social life because I have a friend who I played WoW with he was the 3rd best geared rouge I knew and he "claims" to have a social life outside of WoW and he insist that WoW is a good thing and it isn't ruining his life but he doesn't have a GF, he can't hold down a job and hes always too busy playing WoW to hang out with me and his other IRL friends when I go up there. I was up there two weeks, saw him like twice, :\

Kanakotka Says:

May 9, 2012 - Um, very easily? As i said, the game didn't need more commitment than a few hours a week at best. Sorry to hear that you had issues with the game, but i think that's more attributable to being obsessed about playing the game than the game itself, or hardcore / progression raiding, which is, like i said, what i did in the game. For the first 4 or so months, though, i did play pretty much non stop aswell, since i leveled 3 characters to full, but since that, it just got to raiding and instances.

Kanakotka Says:

May 9, 2012 - Not to mention, despite everyone repeating it ad infinitum, WoW is not a gear based game, nor DPS/HPS meter based, (some bossfights excempt of course). A good raider that keeps out of it-will-kill-you areas is a lot better than top geared max craft level 100 flask brainless runner who is only obsessed with sustaining their DPS/HPS, and our guild found that out the hard way. Yeah, you'll have advantage with gear, but you really don't need to play much in a week due to raid-instance/week schedule.

Kanakotka Says:

May 9, 2012 - As in how much, the correct answer is ''as much as i pleased". Some days i just want to laze indoors all day. WoW certainly wasn't the one taking all my time, regardless.

Deeredman4 Says:

May 9, 2012 - read my other comment...you probably didn't get it in your inbox cause it was a double post

LOLBTLOLBT Says:

May 16, 2012 - Lol if u have trouble with a small carrier in this game, u r not gonna go very farXD

matthewgroen Says:

May 18, 2012 - If you wanna laugh at a WoW discussion, look down below

matthewgroen Says:

May 18, 2012 - Meh, ill stick with SPaZ for the time being

whymustithinkofaname Says:

May 19, 2012 - Near the start TB says that you would be an idiot to be hit by a reaper torpedo; later he is hit by 2 of them.

crazyedd123 Says:

May 22, 2012 - This reminds me a lot of Gratuitous Space Battles.

TehDeminz Says:

May 25, 2012 - If you let a video game control your life like that, you deserved it.

Deeredman4 Says:

May 25, 2012 - I completely agree. I look back on it now and I see it for what it really was a game but at the time it doesn't feel like a game it feels like your life. It was the worst thing that ever happened to me...of course I'm sure there are worse things out there.
