May 11, 2012 - it didn't really have anything to do with speed. it was about his timing. he threw it right after his oponent raised his legs to check the kick and lowered his arms to throw a counter.most top tier heavyweights move at the same speed so if timed correctly I don't see why it wouldn't work.and considering that overeem does dutch kickboxing which derives from muy thai (spinning backfist is a technique in mt) I'm sure he has drilled similar techniques.without the fake low kick of course.
