Description:
Clint Black"Nobody's Home"Released: 1989Album: Killin' TimeLyrics:Move slowly to my dresser drawersPut my blue jeans onFind my cowboy boots, button downStrap my timepiece on my armGrab my billfold, my pocket changeJust a mindless old routineThen it's out the door and down the streetBut it's not really meI still comb my hair the sameStill like the same cologneAnd I still drive that pickup truckThat the same old bank still ownsBut since you left, everybody saysI'm not the guy they've knownThe lights are on, but nobody's homeCup of coffee in the morningIts just food for the brainBut I've been numb since our last goodbyeI haven't felt a thingBut now there's pains in my head and pains in my chestAnd I think I'm losing my hairI'm a half a man with half a mindTo think you didn't careI still comb my hair the sameStill like the same cologneAnd I still drive that pickup truckThat the same old bank still ownsBut since you left, everybody saysI'm not the guy they've knownThe lights are on, but nobody's homeSince you left, everybody saysI'm not the guy they've knownThe lights are on, but nobody's homeThe lights are on, but nobody's home

Jan 14, 2012 - thumbs up for that...but I have to put George Jones above it. Still great music though.

Jan 18, 2012 - of the younger of the older singers, mark chesnut makes good drinking songs too!
virtuousvoice Says:
Feb 1, 2012 - This is a great song from a great, albeit brief, period in modern country music. Clint Black, George Strait, Dwight Yoakam, Randy Travis and Alan Jackson were hard country kings in these days. Too bad Nashville decided to kill this music in favor of becoming the heartland feel-good poptart alternative to MTV. :(

Apr 5, 2012 - to 690169,You're right,it just doesn't make sense.Nashville's greed has taken over any common sense.I put todays country in the same category as Justine Bieber, who is really Selena Gomez in a Beatles wig.

May 4, 2012 - Outstanding album, start to finish. This was the first CD of Clint's I ever heard and been hooked ever since. Along with George Strait I think Clint Black is in my top two favorite country artists ever.
Garrett Leithoff Says:
May 26, 2012 - Clint Black, George Strait, don't forget Tracy Lawrence, Ricky Van Shelton, and Dwight Yoakam really made the late 80's and 90's a great time to tune into country radio. Now if you tune you just get crap that couldn't cut top 40 on pop radio.
