Nov 23, 2011 - My advice. Don't sit on your hands. Strech your arms, place arms flat on ground and avoid sitting on them. Remember to look at your feet while you are doing the exercise.

Nov 29, 2011 - I dont think its a good idea to keep your neck bent while doing this because it leaves strain on your neck and spine when lifting your legs, I used to do these at the gym and its hard on the neck if you look at your feet in that position

Dec 7, 2011 - i thought sitting on your hands was bad because it makes the exercise easier?but anyway, my problem with this is that no matter how tight i keep my core, i can do the kicks just fine, but my back keeps arching up and up to the point where it hurts and i have to stop before my abs have actually done anything significant. how do i prevent this? i usually just do variations of leg raises because it doesn't strain my back much at all.

Dec 31, 2011 - the purpose of placing your hands under your butt is to support your lower back..so..if you're not doing that because you think it makes the exercise easier..that's why your back is hurting.. :)
