Feb 20, 2012 - I still my 1970 Dan Armstrong Bass. Same one Bill's playing

Feb 22, 2012 - Chuckie is one of a very rare breed of drummers that hears everything as he's laying down tempo. He just gradually rides this tempo up in this, exactly as was intended. Just excellent...played with a guy like this once. He could make anything you play sound like the best song ever. We both gave up pro music eventually but he never should have.

Feb 26, 2012 - Holy SHIT the sheer beauty of this music... The song itself is just so unbelievably well written, from the first riff which just rolls like an intense wave of bliss right into you, through the gorgeous licks, Mick's celebratory vocals and OF COURSE Mick T's beautifully fluid solos throughout, right up until the last second with the 'call and response' coda that is just perfection. AND just the way the Stones play this live here.... It's just what MUSIC is about.

Mar 1, 2012 - The best combo for lead & rhythm guitar playing ever is Robert Johnson/Robert Johnson but Taylor/Richards comes close second.
brandonlace Says:
Mar 5, 2012 - Keith has such an incredible sense of rhythm. Him Charlie and Bill really keep the music swinging. I`d put Keith down as the best rhythm guitar player in all of rock and roll.

Mar 7, 2012 - When Mick Taylor was in the band they made some of their best music. Pity he couldn't keep up with, or more likely just disliked, their fast paced lifestyle.

Mar 7, 2012 - I'm with most of you on the whole Mick Taylor vs. Satriani, et al thing. For me the debate turns on what definition of "technical expertise" one uses. Sure, being able to play 100 notes/second is impressive, but so is being able to make a 2-note string bend which lasts 3 seconds or whatever tear at your heartstrings. Over the years too much emphasis was placed on the notes/second aspect in order to make music which has no soul, and sucks as a consequence. Is1959 is spot on with his Top Comment

Mar 9, 2012 - melody is everything. I don't care how technically difficult the piece is. there is a reason why we all know specific pieces by mozart and beethoven. The most melodic stick with us.

Mar 13, 2012 - nice comment. Hits it on the head.

Mar 16, 2012 - Noodled? Noodled? No, no, no, my friend. Taylor was many things but never a noodler. Anyway, may I remind you that Taylor was also on those Muscle Shoals sessions too.
