I've seen all of the 5 movie that had a score nominated for an oscar, as well as listened to the soundtracks. and id have to say i wouldve given it to either Howard Shore for Hugo or John Williams for War Horse. Nothing wrong with this soundtrack. i just personally felt they were better

I veri cinefili hanno sempre lodato il cinema muto in nero e qui sta proprio la ragione: basta vederlo; non occorrono spiegazioni!! Infatti necessitava grande arte recitativa; molta espressività; poi: il bianco-nero immergeva subito nell'onirico; sollecitava la fantasia perché bisognava immaginarsi i dialoghi. S'è perso tantissimo col cinema moderno: l'arte vera e soprattutto la poesia!
