May 6, 2011 - Please, no more crap about Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens or aethism. They have nothing to do with this video or Dr. Cornel West. Furthermore, both Harris and Hitchens are okay with what he believes as he is not pushing it on anyone and neither of them would dare call his intelligence into question.

May 22, 2011 - Don't worry! The people who he has inspired will be the left, it's better to have a massive leftist movement like there was during the Vietnam War protests than a leftist speaker. Look at Noam Chomsky, amazing man, great teacher, and an inspirtation for everyone but he himself can't change anything, the people have to: thats true democracy and liberalism.

MrBlackhaw Says:

Jul 20, 2011 - Intersting that when Mr. West states the 62% of people pray (that is what he is saying BTW) 2 times daily then he and the aduience laughs. then he says that "These are the kinds of people we are dealing with . . ." Some more typical liberal elitism. He and the liberal left has to save the common and poor men. I think the common religious man needs to remember their disdain of traditional christian and religius views when these guys are spouting off their ideas.

dskieran Says:

Jul 24, 2011 - Dr. West is one of the most Christian thinkers in America today (Christian not only in name but in loving and wanting to help the poor and unfortunate, the meek of the earth, if you will). If you would just watch almost any youtube video of Dr. West you might realize that. Doing so might also teach you what being a real Christian is.

MrBlackhaw Says:

Jul 28, 2011 - Wow. I was sommenting on the video and how people reacted to his telling others that people pray and how he reacted to it also. He might be a great christian (i doubt it though) but the reacton in the video by him and his hearers was not very christian like.

MAKEGOTOP Says:

Oct 5, 2011 - lol you're already making a petty attempt to warp his words. Praying twice a day is fine, but that's not what he said. He said 62% believe they speak with god on intimate terms at least twice a day. It's evident of a large population of people that think "God's Will" has some clout when talking politics, human rights, etc. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT GOD WANTS, DUMBASS. It is retarded. Plain and simple. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

MrBlackhaw Says:

Oct 6, 2011 - The Christian God is a personal God. He speaks to each of His children in an intimate way. He is "Our Father." God is very connected to us. the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. the bible also is a love story from God to us. It displays a loving and personal God. AS far as knowing what God wants. I can and I cannot. I know some things but not others. So you are wrong on both counts. And Dr. West is also.

danieldemol Says:

Dec 22, 2011 - Regrettably the right and left both seem to spend more time struggling for political power than helping the poor. There are left and right billionaires and still there are poor people.

fargonbastedge Says:

Dec 28, 2011 - Leftism should take a bow in the 21st century and say "were sorry we brought the western world the failed experiments of feminism, multiculturalism and socialism"... and yes these are new experiments don't kid yourselves.Just because something "feels good" isn't any justification for it you leftist utopia day-dreaming dumbfucks!

fargonbastedge Says:

Dec 28, 2011 - Im sure its like most leftist "material" just a bunch of day-dreaming dumb shit that doesn't work. Has this "cornel west" guy ever produced a product or service in his life time? Sure looks like an afrimative action boy to me.

paultorgas Says:

Jan 15, 2012 - He's published books, an album, and teaches. These are all products/services.

fargonbastedge Says:

Jan 15, 2012 - Exactly hes another armchair academic with little to no real world experience in the real world. All he does is teach and writeSo much in common with Obama.an album? What is he a rapper?

paultorgas Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Your original critique was that Dr. West has not produced any products. Well, the least you can do is acknowledge that he has personally produced quite a bit.More impressively, he's succeeded in doing so. You don't like what he has to say, well, then debate what he's saying. You resorted to ad hominen, and it was baseless. Bashing Obama isn't going to make you feel better, nor will it help you advocate for your cause, whatever that may be (shudder to think).

fargonbastedge Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - You didn't make any points. all this so called "colonel west" has ever done was talk and write, just like Obama. Thats why I brought up that reference.

paultorgas Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - So writing and lecturing means nothing to you? Well, that's no surprise. What kind of barbarian are you?

fargonbastedge Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - No dumbass. Why would anyone take anyone's advice if they have no hands on experience about it???

paultorgas Says:

Jan 20, 2012 - what is hands on experience being a leftist? Given his choice of profession, it would seem he'd be most qualified to give advice. Being a leftist isn't hands on like unclogging toilets. But there's no doubt we need plumbers. Perhaps the well-read might be more qualified than the former in defining the meaning of political ideology though. I'm glad you weren't suggesting writing books wasn't difficult work. If you think it's easy, you haven't tried it.

fargonbastedge Says:

Jan 20, 2012 - Any jackass can write a book. Stop trying to act like its running a marathon. He has no experience in the real world. By that I mean producing a product or service. I dont know how to say this any easier than what I already have.

paultorgas Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - Writing a book is very much like running a marathon. What type of "real world" experience is more valuable than that? Please do tell. Given his background, it seems he has plenty of real world experience. Oh, and I bet all those conservative radio demagogues that you listen to are just so full of these experiences.

fargonbastedge Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - Any job in the private sector would count as "real world experience". Not an affirmative action armchair intellectual. This is why are country is going to crap.

paultorgas Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - The "private sector" is filled with people with undeserved jobs. I'd say 90% of the workforce in the private sector are mindless drones, pencil pushers, and worker ants. I sometimes wonder why they employ as many people as they do. Most of the goods they produce are garbage and probably more harmful to the consumer than anything. And there's plenty of affirmative action in the private sector, dumbass.

fargonbastedge Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - I disagree. I've worked in high level office jobs to cement construction, hardware stores to internet marketing (most of the shitty jobs was when I was in high school).I'm sorry but I just don't have any respect for someone with a know-it-all attitude who has no experience in the real world. "And there's plenty of affirmative action in the private sector"Ya I know, whats your point?
