Sorry about the distorted sound. I don't know why the mix got so distorted on the low end, but it did. Hey, that's rock'n'roll as they used to say.Mitch Easter and Shalini tear up this New Wave classic, tho.It was a bit of closure for me. Allow me to explain: before I moved to North Carolina from Long Island back in '81, I caught The Records playing at a small club on Long Island. I also saw the opening act, a power-pop-ish outfit that relocated from Winston-Salem, called The dB's. Mitch worked with The dB's in various forms over the years, so this was kinda cool.I wish I had kept the camera rolling. A few songs later, with some sound issues improved, Guitars In The Sky did a killer version of The Kinks' "See My Friends."This was shot by me at Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC, January 4, 2008. Aug 22, 2008 - too bad the sound is so shabby on this recording - I happened to be there and it was pretty good live. the bass player (Holt Evans) usually plays a Chapman Stick, and used to be in the Hungry Mind Review, a highly-underrated band.
