So i decided not to touch the 'Swan Lake' for now atleast.About the movie.The Story:(As taken from Apple trailers)BLACK SWAN follows the story of Nina (Portman), a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her retired ballerina mother Erica (Barbara Hershey) who zealously supports her daughter's professional ambition. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Winona Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.The Set Up:(As taken from Wikipedia)Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky. The film stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as ballet dancers in a New York City production of Swan Lake. The production requires a ballerina to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. Nina (Portman) fits for the White Swan and Lily (Kunis) fits for the Black Swan. When the two compete for the parts, Nina finds a dark side of herself.Aronofsky conceived the premise by connecting his viewings of Swan Lake with an unrealized screenplay about understudies and the notion of being haunted by a double. The director also considered Black Swan a companion piece to his previous film The Wrestler, with both films' worlds involving demanding performances for different kinds of art. He and Portman first discussed the project in 2000, and after a brief attachment to Universal Pictures, Black Swan was produced in New York City in 2009 under Fox Searchlight Pictures. Portman and Kunis trained in ballet for months. Notable figures from the ballet world helped with film production to shape the ballet presentation. The film premiered as the opening film for the 67th Venice International Film Festival on September 1. 2010. Feb 16, 2012 - I actually watch Black Swan now and i am Speechless i mean i have seen many Films in the past many good films and bad films well im 14 years old and the movie and the music was just wonderfull i was really touched and i cried because it was a good film and know i know that i love to dance even if i havent the perfect body for ballet i will try to do this its just PASSION ;)

It's about losing yourself to your desire, not just perfect the steps, but also to embody your role beyond the steps that define it. When people see you, they shouldn't see you, they should see the role you are embodying much like the black swan in the movie...

Apr 2, 2012 - I am a girl, 13 years old, I love to dance, ballet is my favorite thing in life, nothing could ever stop me, I saw this movie a few days ago, I love the movie but also hate it, It made me very scared of doing ballet, I almost stopped ballet because of it, but it was the most wonderful movie on earth It really touched me though, especially when she seemed to have killed herself without knowing about it.

My younger sister has been dancing ballet since she was 4 years old and now she is graduating(17 years old) and moving to another country in Europe to study more dancing(we already live in Europe) long before all the other kids finish their Matriculation examination.

May 16, 2012 - its beautiful. it makes me cry every single time. :') I love ballet (i've been dancing since i was 4) and this movie is beautiful. Its indescribable, the feelings in this song. And my schoolmates laugh at what they think is a 'dumb ballet movie'...:/
