Oct 27, 2011 - Only problem is that people DO DIE from the bites, several every year. My home is not far from a "snake handler" church. Some of the members have lost fingers from bites. They don't treat any snake bite, trusting in the Lord to protect them. So maybe they should jump out of planes without parachutes and expect God to protect them too. Or fire a pistol at their head ... :p

I am a Christain and I believe every word of the Gospel but i dont think God was intendin for us to handle snakes when Paul was bitten and lived. Now if thats what you believe then good for you. On a second note how could Snake handling Churches be illegal? Wouldnt that fall under the Freedom of Religion clause of the First ammendment of the Constitution?

Jan 1, 2012 - I live on Sand Moutain in Alabama and there are quite a few churches that practice snake handling around here, in fact one of the "City Confidential" episodes was filmed in Scottsboro, Al, regarding the so called minister that tried to kill his wife by holding her hand in one of the snake cages until she got bit by the biggest one. Didn't work, she lived... Moral of the story? Even deadly snakes can't kill a...... What is the point of this anyway?? I say skin em and eat em!! yummy

Apr 30, 2012 - Important note: We don't have any of the original or primary text of the New Testament. Furthermore, historians know for sure that Mark chapter 16:8-20 were added a long time later. Since the oldest manuscripts (multiple) do not have 8-20. They added it because the resurrection story ended to abruptly with no one going to meet up with the risen Jesus. So, its clear this is not of god. Do some research before believing anything.
