Title: QUEEN Live Aid 1985. Upscaled retouched 16:9 video, great audio. Best quality yet (june 2011).

Added: Jun 21, 2011

Duration: 21:3

Description:
This video of the legendary gig Queen did at live aid 1985 has been uploaded many times, but the quality was poor most of the times I've seen it, and often split into 3 videos. So here is the dvd source, 1 single 21 minute video, upscaled to 720p, and slightly cropped and stretched to fit the 16:9 standard, adding some sharpness and noise reduction. It's not bluray quality at all, but I believe it's the best available from this historic event. Tho I am more jazz-funk orientated, I do agree this is the best live gig in rock history, ever. Enjoy :)ps. If anyone has any idea wether the original recording reels are still available at some dungeon at the bbc , or any info if it will ever be released in true HiDef, I sure would like to know ;) Guess that is wishfull thinking tho :)Line up:-Freddie Mercury / lead vocals, piano-John Deacon / bass, vocals ( a little ;))-Roger Taylor / drums, vocals-Brian May / guitars, vocals-Spike Edney / additional guitar, keyboardsOffcourse I don't have the rights to this video, but it was about time a good 16:9 quality version was uploaded.

Apr 16, 2012 - I've owned the original Disc's of the Live Aid concert for about 15 yrs now & also remember seeing it all live back in 85.Status Quo kicked it off on the day which sort of got the crowd into gear, but nobody really going crazy. The day then moved on with other bands coming & going, but no real excitement.Dire Straites came on stage & did a couple of tunes which seemed to get the crowd a bit more interested again. Then Freddie & the Guys came running onto the stage - JUST HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Apr 18, 2012 - @heenez... I promise to say thes in a nize way to ;) thanks, u did a really good job! Do it again yes... we idiots like to watch videos in better quality with real world proportions ... a short note to the ones who complain about this good work... it's not really stretched, the original was just squeezed to fit anorectic standards.

CigaretteSmokingGuy Says:

Apr 18, 2012 - I think the issue here is that the original recordings for this concert were lost. These pictures are sourced from a CBS(?) recording of events which was kept mostly out of personal interest by the technicians involved in the production.

Apr 23, 2012 - I never get sick of watching this. Freddie had such a stage presence it's unreal. He had a way of controlling the crowd like no other. Truthfully I was never much of a Queen fan. Liked some of their music but was just never big on them, until I saw this video and remembered just how great they were. Thanks to the uploader for giving us such a great video to watch.

Apr 24, 2012 - I am in my 20's, so Queen was kind of before my time. I knew nothing about them until I saw their Live Aid performance about 6 years ago... and it took my breath away. I was actually at work (I worked in a music store) and couldn't will myself away from the TV that was playing this. Truly the best live performance of all time and it never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for uploading all of it in one video!

May 1, 2012 - A cultural high watermark. Freddie on top form: transcendent, enigmatic, powerful, beautiful. He owned the stadium. We still adore you, Freddie. Gone, but never, ever forgotten. You live forever darling.

May 4, 2012 - This is the best quality video of this amazing event I have seen. Thx so much for sharing. These guys were literally Gods. The best educated, professional, dedicated, fan-loving group ever - and thanks to Spike for his quiet contribution. I wish today's youth could experience something like this. Turn off your f'ing cell phones and electronics and go to a live concert. Not sure who is even close to this in today's offering of rock groups - The Killers would be good I guess, but certainly no Que

May 18, 2012 - I'm 19 years old and a huge queen fan i play football for ohio state and i play queen in the locker room. I wish I could have seen them in concert but this video, and others like it, give me a small glimpse into what it would have been like. so I thank those who make these videos and I thank the fans before me,who loved queen so much that they would let their music fade and gave the chance for us the younger generation to love them too.

DoublePlow Says:
