Title: Pink Floyd - Meddle - 03 - Fearless

Added: Sep 5, 2009

Author: GoinToSleepBIATCH

Duration: 6:10

Description:
You say the hill's too steep to climb, climb itYou say you'd like to see me try, climbingYou pick the place and I'll choose the timeAnd I'll climb the hill in my own wayJust wait a while for the right dayAnd as I rise above the tree-line and the cloudsI look down hear the sounds of the things you said todayFearlessly the idiot faced the crowd, smilingMerciless the magistrate turns round, frowningAnd who's the fool who wears the crownNo doubt in your own wayAnd every day is the right dayAnd as you rise above the fear-lines in his browYou look down hear the sound of the faces in the crowd...Walk on; walk on with hope in your heart,And you'll never walk alone; You'll never walk alone.Walk on; walk on with hope in your heart,And you'll never walk alone; You'll never walk alone.Liverpool! Liverpool!1

Apr 16, 2012 - Who are you talking to?

grievousangel09 Says:

Apr 16, 2012 - If i'm reading this 'discussion' properly, YOU'RE actually wrong. You can plainly hear him say "chiding".

justarandomguyok Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Sorry grieviousangel09... I got upset because I pointed out a common mistake in the lyrics, having actually isolated the track myself and broken it down to MAKE sure. Won't even bother to go into the poetics of the song and how it's consistant, and how the notion of introducing an imperative in the first line, doesn't hold with the rest of the lyrical pattern. We don't do that. *laughs. Only to be told I'm wrong. Ah well... such is life, eh? Perhaps ignorance is indeed bliss, eh?

grievousangel09 Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Yeah, i figured it out by reading the other comments. I even pointed out to SloppyGoat myself that the lyric is indeed "chiding". I can hear it without isolation but good for you. And i do understand about the odd lyrical pattern but it makes perfect sense to me.I get it's meaning. And i've been irritated at looking the lyrics up online and seeing how many "Floyd Fans" get it wrong.

justarandomguyok Says:

Apr 19, 2012 - Amen! Thanks for taking the time, greviousangel09. I for one appreciate the support on this rather small, and seemingly insignificant fact. But then... as Roger Waters and David Gilmour have always been about 'details' it seemed a shame to let it go. More fool of me, I suppose. Cheers!

May 5, 2012 - I think yes. The song sounds just like several songs of The Beatles, mainly George Harrison and some john lennon Song's.

jjlaman Says:

May 10, 2012 - I could play this on a loop for the rest of my life and die a happy man.

Bowers3867 Says:

May 15, 2012 - well obviously you don't know your 60's music because back then most of the bands sounded similar, it was the sound back then. This is when music like this first started coming out in Britain and was not yet as explored so of course some rhythm or the way they sing sounds the same..most of them did

al1fre1do1 Says:

May 15, 2012 - Please, the sounds of the Rock don't began in the 60's from the nothing; believing this is not viable, because the sounds of this music were not born only from the rock, but from several rhithyms. However, the Beatles were influence of all the bands, even the contemporary bands of them. Now, i'm really fan of Pink Floyd, and if they accept their influence, me too. The beatles has influence too, i don't deny.

al1fre1do1 Says:

May 15, 2012 - The problem is thinking that there's not a net of influence, because the influence exists and the spontaneus generation, don't. Sorry for my english, this is not my language.
