May 21, 2012 - This has to be the cheesiest war film ever. From berenger trying to be a bad ass, with his phony southern accent, mean looks.Dafoe trying to portray a sympathetic character, when he's just creepy like always.Sheen's god awful presence alone, kevin dillon trying to be threatening.Platoon is the showgirls of war films.Let's face it,aren't films funnier, when they don't intend to be?No wonder the oscars pick movies like ''crash''.Want to see a film that benefits from timing, look no further.

PhuckedVideos Says:
May 22, 2012 - Pretty lulzy scene
TTundragrizzly Says:
May 22, 2012 - would you rather Tom Berenger be a sissy, cowardly leader? That was pretty rare in Vietnam. This was, is and always will be one of the most realistic Vietnam movies ever made. You need to get your head examined. Go plunge a toilet.
MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 22, 2012 - It's one thing to portray a believable, hardened leader, quite another when you act as if you belong in a g.i joe cartoon. And this film is one of the least realistic war films ever made.America didn't fail in vietnam because the men who we're fighting,we're divided among themselves. There we're no divisions like this in vietnam between platoons. One side are the ''good''compassionate dope smokers(sure didn't hurt them in combat though eh?)And the other, the ''bad'',a bunch of drunken rednecks.
TTundragrizzly Says:
May 23, 2012 - you call dope smokers the good and drunks the bad? And there were asshole Sgts like there are today. Like I said, go get your head examined.
MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 23, 2012 - No,stone presents the dope smokers as ''good'',and the ''bad'' guys as drunks. You saw the movie right? He took every anti u.s cliche, and made it seem as this was a typical day to day experience for our soldiers.Stone's message is that the u.s failed in vietnam, not because of the people that put them there. But,it was apparently too many southerners who liked whiskey that was the ultimate failure for the u.s.How profound huh?The film is despised by vietnam veterans, and can you blame them?
Vietpongcorn Says:
May 23, 2012 - Sniff the pines, sniff that cross-mounted pussy down by the river WOOOOOOO! HOT DAMN.
Vietpongcorn Says:
May 23, 2012 - I totally agree. The director of Platoon (Oliver Stone) was a vietnam vet. He actually made the actors carry the actual weight of backpacks that the vietnam vets had to carry to make it look realistic. Also with other countless realistic shots.
TTundragrizzly Says:
May 23, 2012 - you are a freaking idiot. If you hate this movie so much. Why the hell did you ever come to this youtube video? Go watch "toilet plunging for dummies" instead.
MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 23, 2012 - Im an idiot for not liking a trite, terribly acted, simplistic, overwrought film?I supplied you reasons why i thought the film is terrible, you're only response are childish insults?LOL I came here to express my view on a film(It is why we're all doing here right?),and in the process, try to create a rational, mature discussion about the film.Obviously this doesn't apply to you.But hey, congrats on perpetuating the stereotype that platoon fans are inarticulate, unimaginative, immature cretins.Well done

May 24, 2012 - man your point of view on movies is so shitty lol, now im gonna get a full paragraph on how he thinks im shitty and how the movie was shitty.

MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 24, 2012 - You call my point of view on movies shitty, yet, you can't even put a paragraph together defending the film?Funny stuff.
TTundragrizzly Says:
May 24, 2012 - you didn't answer my question. Why the hell did you even come to this youtube video clip if you hate "Platoon" so much? Obviously you are trolling around youtube looking to stir things up with people. Here's some advice. Don't!
MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 24, 2012 - You never asked a question, moron. All you did was insult me from the jump, while pathetically patting yourself on the back\
TheIzach123 Says:
May 25, 2012 - there he goes telling me how low i am hahaha its funny how assholes like you dont appreciate what good film is, this film so so genius this was charlie sheens prime man come on you are just being a cynical douche, there is a difference between stating your opinion and being a cynical asshole...
MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 25, 2012 - Don't appreciate what good film is?Driving miss daisy won an oscar to,is that film genius? This film has no originality or subtlety at all,how could it possibly be genius?LOL Charlie Sheen's acting and voiceover is flat out embarrassing. Here's a good example:In one key scene, sheen chastises men in his platoon for a village gang rape. But he doesn't sound the least bit upset,as he screams ''you're animals, all fucking animals!''He sounds like a jock yelling at his buddy in a gym to pump more iron.

May 26, 2012 - Thought of this movie when hearing today of 32 children slaughtered in Syria. Imposing your will on people is evil. Doesn't matter if it's Cong, Americans, or Syrians.
TTundragrizzly Says:
May 27, 2012 - "Why the hell did you ever come to this youtube video? " isn't a question??? Scroll up MORON!
MrKUBRICKIAN Says:
May 27, 2012 - I came here to give an opinion on the film,i already mentioned this.''Scroll up MORON''Haha the irony of that comment is quite funny. But hey,i can leave you to converse with only people that love the film.
