May 14, 2012 - That's not because of "planned obsolescence", that's because new chip designs utilize higher bandwidth on motherboards and new data transfer algorithms being more useful on different motherboards... think about it, how is it in the best interest of cpu companies to require everyone else to spend money on a completely new motherboard, yes, to the extent people can afford to buy new motherboards that's no problem, but if they didn't have to do that they would sell more cpu's because S&D curve's

It's evident that there is a total lack of credible research behind some of the insane, bogus claims made in this video that are indeed so stupid they are offensive.
