Title: The Story of Stars and Stripes Honor Flight - Documentary Trailer
Added: Apr 15, 2011
Author: SSHonorFlight
Duration: 2:21
Description:
Every day, 1,000 World War II veterans die.Our mission, Operation Resolve, is simple: send every living World War II veteran to the stunning memorial created in their name in Washington, DC, before it's too late.To help make that happen and to tell the remarkable stories of these heroes, Stars and Stripes Honor Flight teamed up with Freethink Media to produce a feature length documentary film to be released on August 11, 2012 at Miller Park - the Milwaukee Brewers baseball stadium.Shooting for two years, filmmakers Dan Hayes and Clay Broga have captured profound scenes with the vets and their volunteers, emotional interviews, and breathtaking shots of the Honor Flight trip to DC. You'll be inspired, both happy and sad, and left reflecting on what gratitude, freedom and the trip's slogan, "Every day is a bonus," really mean. It's typical for a vet who takes the trip to rank it among their top life experiences, just behind their wedding and the birth of their children. For us to help provide that for them, is nothing short of remarkable. Now, you can help.Thank a WWII vet on Facebook: http://on.fb.me/JohvQZ Please send this trailer to your friends and family. The more people who watch it, the more money we raise, the more World War II veterans we can give this once-in-a-lifetime experience.Share your story at http://www.HonorFlightStories.com/To donate, volunteer or learn more about Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, please visit http://www.starsandstripeshonorflight.org/

Jul 7, 2011 - I recently recorded a new song titled Lucky Forward, a song that began as a tribute to my Uncle but it quickly took on a greater meaning of thanks to all veterans who have served. On my last trip to Washington DC, an Honor Flight group was at the memorial and I was so moved. I know it was part of the emotion inside me that helped write the song. I will add a link to this video on my web site and thank you so much. Tami Mulcahy

Aug 30, 2011 - If there are 5 dislikes, for whatever stupid reason, let's just send this YouTube link to our friends to "Like" it, and the 5 won't seem like very much at all! I think we can get many more views and many more "Likes", don't you? :) After all, the movie is coming out in November, and I can't wait! My dad is going on the Honor Flight from Cleveland. He is 94. He's going in a few weeks and is very excited!

Aug 30, 2011 - You know, it would be really nice to show this YouTube to some of the WWII Vets, but I don't know if they'd like reading some of the nasty comments. Can we keep our ideologies out of this, and honor THEM? In these old guys' time, there was politeness, even in disagreement. Liberal, Conservative, who cares? Let's play nice and honor these old guys (and gals) as the heroes they are.

May 27, 2012 - All gave some. Some gave all....Some days thank you just doesn't cover it.I've been to the memorial in Washington and one can't help, but be moved. Some of the veterans talk to each other while other simply give the knowing nod. More I learn about WWII the more I feel we're in dealt to those fought. Pure evil threatened to over take the world and they defiantly said no!
PoptartzzofGorg Says:
May 28, 2012 - The Greatest Generation.... Without their bravery or sacrifice we would all be speaking German or Japanese.
